I'm joining @modal!
Software is undergoing a revolution; we need new tools and infrastructure for this new era.
@modal is the platform I want in these times, so I decided to help build it.
If you want to come build it with me: modal.jobs and my DMs are open!
📢 ADSP Episode 310 is out! 📢 In this episode, @blelbach and @code_report chat about Bryce leaving @nvidia, where he is headed next and more! 🥳 adspthepodcast.com/2026/10/3…
it took me building a shitty version of it to understand why pi durable is great. in essence it’s “just” way to serialize your session. that sounds straightforward until you try to do it yourself and realize there are tons of choices that if you get a single one wrong, you lock yourself out of building anything usable.

ETH is false. Still wrapping my head around this one.
We’ve spent decades trying to understand the limits of computation. Seeing AI challenge some of those fundamental assumptions is pretty wild!

In May, we had just closed our best quarter ever – and of course decided to re-build @hexanalytics from scratch.
Today we're announcing two things: Hex 4.0, the first analytics platform truly built for agents; and a $100m fundraise at a $1.2B valuation, led by @peakxvpartners
The world is changing fast, and we're not slowing down! Read more here:

watching ramp team build this has been incredible; they truly love their craft, do things that are extremely pragmatic yet it feels like they are in it for the love of the game. rare combo.
surprise. we're launching Inspect to the world today.
day 2,387: Inspect is created inside Ramp
day 2,678: we start building Inspect as its own product
day 2,710: our first design partner
day 2,780: Inspect goes public
this has been an absolute pleasure to work on and hope you enjoy it as much as we do

Finding it very educational and interesting to learn about the hardware layer of GPUs: how they are structured, the obvious advantages and disadvantages bs CPUs.
This is from Modal’s excellent “GPU Glossary” print book @can gave me (the PDF is free here: modal.com/gpu-glossary)
a lot of the @modal playbook is pretty simple: make hard things with infra easy so that people use more ai infra.
Tinker changed how people do post-training. We're big fans, and so are many of the teams we work with. But as those teams scale up, they keep raising the same two problems: per-token pricing gets expensive quickly, and you’re limited to the models and features the provider decides to support.
We think a good API deserves more than one implementation.
Today we're releasing Spindle, an open-source, Tinker-compatible training server that runs in your Modal workspace. Your existing Tinker scripts run unchanged, and because you own the server, you pay for GPU time instead of tokens.

Some projects are only done for shareholder value. This one was done for the love of the game, literally! My favorite online game, Curvytron, is now backed by the Sticky Sessions primitive my team recently shipped :)

Shoutout to @siwonpark_, @ksinpoint1, and @kathirmeyyappan for embodying the @modal spirit and shipping this with speed.
also i wonder sometimes why / how does the USG use id.me who relies on a montenegro TLD
Vera you gonna see graphs like these but the @modal blog?
We got our hands on @nvidia's new Vera CPU and put it to the test.
We built a benchmark using real-world agentic workloads to see how it performs under contention.
In early tests, Vera delivered up to 2x the throughput of comparable x86 hardware, maintaining low latency even as hundreds of concurrent workloads competed for resources.
For Modal Sandboxes, that could mean running more agents in parallel without sacrificing latency.
fun fact: @lethain has been my manager twice, but more importantly a great friend and biking (and drinking!) partner over the years.
