This video is a good example of the importance of the military, specifically the officer corps, in European politics. In traditional European society, up until fairly recently, the “military” used to be its own faction within the government and politicking playing field. In France, the officer corps still has deep ties to conservatism and to the Catholic Church, and the demographics are largely French Catholics; a sharp distinction from the secular/multicultural society that makes up France in general. If the Right in France want to reclaim their country, the military will be a huge force to reckon with if push comes to shove.
