Something lovely for the weekend! Beautiful blue glass beads from the late Bronze Age. Ploughed up by a farmer in Denmark in 1885, analysis shows the beads were made in Mesopotamia, evidence of long-distance trade in luxury goods some 3,000 years ago. 📷 National Museum of Denmark #Archaeology

Yep, these people are "deniers", not "sceptics". You don't get to be "sceptical" about established facts unless you have some revolutionary new information or perspectives that everyone else has missed...
Dear BBC, please do not call anti-vaxxers “vaccine sceptics”. It implies there exists doubt about vaccines. 70-odd years ago we had large numbers of people paralysed or in iron lungs. We don’t see that today and for that we can thank the Salk vaccine.

#Today in 1984, high above the Earth's surface, an astronaut captured a satellite by hand. Dale Gardner flew free using the Manned Maneuvering Unit and began to attach a control device to the rotating Westar 6 satellite. [video sped up 2x]

Colibri has reached 100 meters! 🚀🎉 In 60 seconds, it climbed to 105m, diverted 30m north, and safely landed back to its pad. This is the flight we promised from day one, while no reusable rocket has flown freely in Europe yet! We did it with a tiny team and under 250kCHF! 😉

We flew over Hurricane Milton about 90 minutes ago. Here is the view out the Dragon Endeavour window. Expect lots of images from this window as this is where I’m sleeping while we wait to undock and return to Earth. Timelapse coming in a separate post. 1/6400 sec, f8, ISO 500

Peering out a Dragon Endeavor window that frames red and green aurora streaming by Dragon Freedom docked to the front of the International Space Station. When Crew-9 arrived I moved out of my crew quarters on the ISS to make room for @AstroHague. I now sleep in Dragon Endeavor while we wait to undock. We take most of our images from the cupola, but sleeping here has been amazing. This is the view out the window this evening . . . I miss my family and friends but we would have missed today’s insane aurora if we had undocked today. I watched the aurora with @astro_Pettit today from the cupola and on a later pass I watched it from Endeavor with @AstroHague. 0.8s, 14mm, f1.4, ISO 3200
