How can Cyndi Munson be our next Governor of Oklahoma when she has repeatedly voted against bills aimed at keeping people who are here illegally and committing crimes from remaining in Oklahoma, or receiving taxpayer funded benefits? She voted NO on HB 4156, which created state penalties for people illegally entering and remaining in Oklahoma, including felony penalties for repeat offenses and certain people who re-entered after previously being removed from the U.S. Luckily, the bill passed and was signed into law. She voted NO on HB 1362, which dealt with people arrested for certain crimes in Oklahoma who were then found to be here illegally. It created additional penalties and procedures for custody, and in certain cases, returning them to their country of origin. It passed the House 73–16 but did not ultimately become law. She also voted NO on HB 4423, which required Oklahoma’s Medicaid agency to verify the immigration status of certain applicants through the federal SAVE system and notify federal immigration authorities when verification determined an applicant was not lawfully present. It passed the House 80–18 but did not ultimately become law.
