Another attempt at a pinned tweet! Technically multi-fandom but it’s been about 90% Yellowjackets lately. I love mistynat, if that’s not clear 😭 (seriously tho…if you’re a YJ fan who doesn’t like mistynat, you probably shouldn’t bother following) A 🧵 of stuff below:

Does anyone else just feel like permanently guilty like all the time???? Like not even bc you did anything but just it's your state of being lol

I’m not against people downloading fics obviously. (I do it myself lmao). But I hope everyone who is reading downloaded fics while ao3 is down also plans on leaving the authors a nice comment once the site is back on ❤️

I love mistynats so much bc even though we’re a small group I always get such insightful comments on my fics. Which matters to me more than the volume. Idk. Fanfiction (both writing and reading it) is so much better when you treat it as a community

One thing that does irk me about fan responses to Ao3 being down, and not just this particular time, is the emphasis on how they cannot go without their bedtime fanfics but the majority of readers do not give their favorite fics or writers the engagement they deserve.

These comments are fucking disgusting. God forbid a man have a big heart and want to save a struggling creature. I’d trade any of you nihilistic pieces of shit to get those kids their father back.

I do think the tenancy of larger fandoms to treat fic writers like celebrities is a big factor in why ai is such a prevalent problem in fanfiction rn. We have ppl just wanting to be popular instead of writing fic for the right reasons: to be a passionate nerd

This might be one of the most accurate sortrs I’ve ever done. This is genuinely my top 10

why do people assume just because you read fanfics it automatically means you don't read actual books and never went to a library in your life 😭😭 y'all are a bunch of pretentious assholes lmfao get over yourselves #sorrynotsorry #rpfisokayidc

So I actually got that invitation pretty fast lol. I made a SquidgeWorld account and posted some of my mistynat fics there. There’s only four because crossposting fics is tedious but I may add more later. Also half-assed the summaries squidgeworld.org/users/we_we…
Danielle (@catrahark) profile pictureDanielle@catrahark6h
I requested an invitation to join that SquidgeWorld site. But in the meantime (not to be presumptuous) if any mistynats would like me to send them one of my fics in pdf form I could probably do that. I have a PDF conversion app

Omg yeah I definitely get widow Misty vibes with the lyrics! (Side note: I didn’t know you could send songs on strawpage like that lol)

If ao3 is down for four weeks maybe I should really get into gear so I can potentially have multiple mistynat things to post when it finally comes back? 🤔

Just occurred to me that the gift exchange might have to be pushed back if ao3 is down for four weeks….bad timing man

I’m not usually someone who freaks out over ao3 being down bc it just disciplines me into working on my fics. But 2-4 weeks is gonna kill me a bit lol

We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/
