Burgum is his own disaster, the most ruthless, corrupt Sec. of the Interior. In contrast, Former Pres. Clinton's Secretary moved to increase grazing fees by 5 times to help unload cows from public lands.

Sanctuary vets: "Yes, Lucy can be moved safely." Canadian legislation: Excludes her anyway. Politicians and Edmonton Valley Zoo failed Canada’s loneliest elephant. She deserved her final years in a sanctuary, not a lonely cage. 🐘 #FreeLucy #JaneGoodallAct @MarkJCarney

While Guille spends time with Baby, Maia and Bambi often stay close. Here, Maia gently touches inside Bambi’s mouth, gathering scent information through her trunk. Bambi returns the affection with soft pats to Maia’s head—a sweet moment between friends.

Close all zoos, aquariums, circuses etc. Animals are not objects. They are sentient beings like us.🦣🐅🐆🦒🐋🐬🦬

Goodness me! Where’s the time gone? 1984 we started @BornFreeFDN. I was 24. On 4 Nov I’m 68. I’ve lost my Dad but my Mum, my wonderful family, & my Born Free ‘family’ are with me. No presents but your support for bornfree.org.uk would be the best gift of all. Much love Wx

VICTORY: Brazil has taken a major step towards protecting oceans and benefitting coastal communities! By establishing the first national program to monitor the state of its fish stocks, Brazil is helping to bring more science and transparency to decisions that affect the future of fish stocks, fishing communities, and ocean health. This win comes after years of Oceana speaking up in Brazil to call for more informed fisheries.

It takes a certain level of evil to disturb the remains of native Americans and their sacred grounds, commit ecocide on undisturbed lands, and block migration of wildlife. Every person should be named working on the border wall so they can be prosecuted

This is a crime. States should start taking this destruction seriously and protect against it.
Trump's second border wall is going up through Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and they're ripping out sacred saguaros to build it. 🌵 This video from Russ McSpadden of the Center for Biological Diversity shows saguaros on the ground next to the bollards for the new wall. It shows thousands of saguaros have been removed, along with ocotillo and all kinds of other plants and vegetation. The Tohono O'odham call the saguaro ha:şañ. In their custom, saguaros are considered people. Removing one isn't just destroying a plant, it's considered an act of violence against a person. These creatures grow about an inch in their first eight years. They don't flower until 35. They don't grow an arm for 50 to 70 years. They live 150 years or more. And they provide homes for other critters. Gila woodpeckers carve nests into saguaros, and elf owls, kestrels and purple martins move in after. And "just transplant them" doesn't always work. An NPS official told federal auditors that as many as half didn't survive the move. In 2020, thousands were removed for the first 30-foot wall. Some were transplanted. Most didn't survive. Now the survivors are being torn out again. McSpadden: "The few that did survive are being transplanted again, so exponentially less chance of survival for those saguaros." And thousands more are slated to be ripped out of the Tohono O'odham Nation's own land. The Nation says Border Patrol told them it's happening. Chairman Verlon Jose: "Trespassing on our land to remove the sacred saguaros is like having masked men break into your house and take away your children." So the Nation went to court to stop it, including an emergency request to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. A federal judge has refused to block the wall and the removal of the saguaros. Removing a saguaro without a permit is illegal in Arizona. But last November, DHS waived legal requirements there to speed up wall construction. Check out Russ's video below to see the desecration of the ancient saguaros. It's in the first reply. What would you do if invaders came onto your land and started desecrating it? #DemsUnited 🎥 Russ McSpadden, Center for Biological Diversity
