The night before Academy graduation is reserved for a special tradition: Family Night! After weeks of challenges and hard work, recruits bring their families together to build friendships and form bonds that will last long after the Academy ends. As a thank-you for the encouragement and support their families have provided throughout the Academy, the recruits take a turn serving them. Behind every recruit is a family cheering them on, making sacrifices, and celebrating every milestone along the way. Thank you, families! #Firefighter #LateralAcademy

For the fourth consecutive year, CAFMA has received a Car Seat Safety Grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS)! The grant will support our car seat safety program, train additional technicians, provide car seats to families in need, and help us certify the only Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor in Northern Arizona. To schedule a car seat inspection, call 928-772-7711. Thank you to our Fire Prevention Team and GOHS! #CarSeatSafety #ChildSafety @az_gohs

CAFMA and Volunteers Install Free Smoke Alarms in More Than 50 Prescott Homes: On Saturday, September 19, 2026, volunteers committed their morning to installing smoke alarms as part of the CAFMA Community Smoke Alarm Walk, a collaboration between the CAFMA, the Arizona Burn Foundation, and @RedCrossAZ . Volunteers, including community members, CAFMA families, and the crew of CAFMA Engine 51, tested existing smoke alarms and installed 46 new standard smoke alarms in 53 homes. Along the way, they also educated residents about smoke alarm safety (test your smoke alarms once a month!) and the importance of creating and practicing a fire escape plan (entire family should practice at least twice a year!). CAFMA extends their sincere thanks to the Arizona Burn Foundation, the American Red Cross Arizona, and the dedicated volunteers who generously gave their time to support the Prescott community. A special thank you to B&W Fire Security for providing breakfast and lunch. #FireSafety

Asking for a friend… Always charge your phone and other devices on a hard, flat surface, like a desk, table, or bare floor. Never charge on a bed, couch, pillow, or other soft surface. Charge smart. Stay safe! #FirePrevention #FirePreventionWeek

This week, our lateral recruits completed the Captain Zach Fields Memorial Workout alongside Zach’s brother, Health and Safety Officer/Captain Brody Fields, and members of our Training team. A meaningful way to come together, challenge ourselves, and honor one of our brothers.
