Developing #ExplainableAI is critical and has not received the needed development resources. The newly issued White House Executive Order will change that. Congratulations to the citizens’ committee’s hard work built this foundational set of guidelines. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room…

Looks like the monster will need to include #ExplainableAI after all. You thought that was hilarious when we mentioned that in a post last year. Times change. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room…

The EU AI Act presents an initial example of how AI will be regulated. Transgressing this extraterritorial law problematically could result in a fine of six percent of a company’s revenue! Link to full PDF is at the bottom of the page. europarl.europa.eu/news/en/h…

In our 6/6/22 comments to the SEC, we recommended creation of an Advisory Committee to oversee the development of the SEC’s regulatory regimen for #AI and #algorithmic model governance. AI/client interaction presents an additional reason an AC is needed. sec.gov/comments/s7-10-22/s7…

Does this work for you? Banner: If you are a citizen of the #EU, your laws prevent you from using this service. Should you continue, you are responsible for any and all fines incurred. The #EU will be fine without Twitter, et al. Even further behind but fine. #InventSomething

Incredible progress in AI safety research with a 358% growth from 2016 to 2021, according to data by the brilliant team at @CSETGeorgetown! But this comprises only 2% of all AI research.  How can we make the next leap in #AISafety?” almanac.eto.tech/topics/ai-s…

Excellent Article On Corporate Governance But there is a more excellent way. Create a “parallel” board for specific purpose. Populate it with experts to oversee specific topics. Reports findings to Board, CxOs and external stakeholders. Great for technology, #ESG/#ESS, #AI.

Since 1978! Just didn’t know it at the time. We were Holt Winters equations which still underly a lot of financial AI models including Microsoft Excel Create Forecast (Previously Insights).

OpenAI's leaked Foundry pricing says a lot – if you know how to read it – about GPT4, The Great Implementation, a move from Generative to Productive AI, OpenAI's safety & growth strategies, and the future of work. Another AI-obsessive megathread on what to expect in 2023 🧵

The evidence is often too clear. Trying to be erudite, some have contradicted their own thesis in their discussions.

“[ Delisted ]” is an important clue as is the scale on the x-axis. Don’t pick too short a timeframe either or you will have a blank plot.

Yep, I'm ready to say it: Web 3.0 is here. It's A.I. It's going to move really fast. And we are simply not ready for how dumb and weird it's going to get. garbageday.email/p/dumb-and-…

We made a colossal mistake in this country shipping jobs to China. The trade deficit used to be around $60 billion and it’s grown to almost $400 billion. We need to bring industry back and become a manufacturing superpower.
