One strategy to divide an irregular convex polygon with N sides in 2 equal areas A/2:
Start from an initial vertex, decompose the polygon into N-2 triangles. Add the contiguous triangles that do not exceed A/2.
For the next triangle, divide the opposite segment in proportion to what is needed to reach half. Draw the line from the initial vertex to this new point.
