✔️Understanding and supportive managers
✔️Inclusive workplace cultures
✔️Open conversations about caregiving
✔️Visible supports and resources
For employers, this is both an opportunity and a competitive advantage. Organizations that proactively support caregivers are better positioned to meet the changing workforce expectations and have a better reputation as employer of choice.

💼Indigenous Caregiver Toolkit
Indigenous traditional values often view caregiving as a shared community responsibility, so many may not identify as caregivers. Indigenous caregivers often face barriers such as limited culturally safe services and the impacts of colonization.
In partnership with the Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health at Lakehead University, an Indigenous Advisory Committee adapted a toolkit to make it more culturally appropriate for Indigenous communities.
