❄️ Start of Winter | Put on more layers and stay warm. Wishing you a peaceful winter. 🌨 Fine rain brings a chill, yet no frost has come; in the courtyard, the leaves are half green, half yellow. 🥟 Eating dumplings As a folk saying goes, “Skip your bowl of dumplings at the Start of Winter, and no one will care if your ears freeze off.” Dumplings are shaped like ears, so people believe eating them keeps their ears from freezing in winter. 🍶 Brewing wine In Shaoxing, Zhejiang and nearby areas, the Start of Winter is when people traditionally begin brewing huangjiu (yellow rice wine). The stretch from the Start of Winter to the Start of Spring is considered the best brewing season, known as “winter brewing.” 🧹 Sweeping away sickness In the middle and lower Yangtze region, there was once a custom called “sweeping away sickness” (扫疥): people bathed in water boiled with fragrant herbs and chrysanthemums to ward off illness and misfortune. #黎深 #恋与深空 #lishen #Zayne #LoveandDeepspace #レイ先生 #レイ #恋と深空 #이서언 #러브앤딥스페이스 #戀與深空
