Life hack: Find people you hate, and automate their job with AI. Then, proceed to sell the software to their employers.

Anyone who says you can build a SaaS in 24 hours is full of shit.

Software engineering in 2026 is quite weird. The bar got lower but at the same time the bar is raised.

progress is alive
AI has made desktop apps commercially non-viable. This industry died when this free, open source photoshop clone was announced 5 days ago. 7000 people have already started working on it. 1500 improvements in 5 days. All free. It was a good run. github.com/storytold/photocr…

radical idea, what if everything wasn’t an industry and we improved the world
If AI is becoming good enough to reverse-engineer, rebuild, and improve almost any software from scratch, what happens to the software industry?

This was the promise of Live Service Games - “the world changes with you” - this is it man
Hivecoding is the most powerful use of Ai that i have ever used... 25 opus 5.5 agents + top chat messages = hivecoding Everyday i live stream and 100s of agentic engineers type fixes and improvements in my chat. most people in my chat are real devs and much smarter than me. i have agents run overnight, filtering out the best improvements and suggestions from chat and from my stream transcript. Last night my agents shipped 90 new changes to Kong Royale. ( 50 person battle royale im building ) i wake up to MASSIVE improvements everywhere. the agents make changes to the stream, my production setup, our discord, etc... The human is now the bottle neck, but not when you have 100 to 200 humans prompting your agents everyday.

it was worse than slop
95% of code was slop before AI, too. It was written by underpaid juniors because businesses wanted senior-level results on a junior-level budget.

And that’s a good thing. Designers should be solving problems.
There’s absolutely no way a designer had anything to do with this
