BREAKING: According to The Washington Post the US officials now believe that the new Supreme Leader of Iran Mojtaba Khamenei is alive and well and is regularly communicating with Mohsen Rezaei and that the two have communicated since Rezaei received Vice President JD Vance's letter.
This is the central reason the letter was sent to the person currently closest to him, Iran's SNSC Secretary Mohsen Rezaei. The letter is essentially a message directly to Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

🚨🚨Apple basically told him that Israel has either just hacked his devices or is trying to.
He made the brilliant documentary on the Pager attack in Lebanon.
They literally destroyed his home last week.
Now this.
Yesterday, I received a security notification from Apple warning me that my iPhone had been targeted by a sophisticated mercenary spyware attack, involving technology of the kind developed by companies such as NSO Group, the Israeli firm behind the notorious Pegasus spyware.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of Apple’s warning was its confirmation that such attacks target specific individuals “because of who you are or what you do.”
This is not the first time I have been targeted by spyware. I was previously targeted with Pegasus in both 2017 and 2021.
I do not yet know who is behind this latest attack, or whether it is connected to my investigative documentary, The Trap, which I directed and co-produced. The film, available on Al Jazeera 360, exposed the details of the September 2024 pager explosions in Lebanon.
What is certain, however, is that the targeting of journalists with sophisticated spyware poses a grave threat to press freedom, the confidentiality of journalistic sources, and the very foundations of independent investigative journalism.

BREAKING: Hegseth faces mounting pressure to resign or be impeached over his handling of the Iran war and the sudden removal of multiple senior military officers, per Bloomberg.
Democrats and some Republicans plan to move against him immediately after the midterms if Trump does not dismiss him first.
A fresh impeachment effort is being led by Republican Congressman Thomas Massie. House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries has vowed to "run Hegseth out of town" if Democrats take the majority next week.
"Twenty-one American servicemembers have lost their lives and more than 850 have been wounded because of this war," said Senator Jack Reed, who would chair the Senate Armed Services Committee if Democrats win the chamber. He put the cost at nearly $50 billion in military expenses.
Hegseth fired the Pentagon's chief planner two days ago, the 5th general pushed out this year.

Trump's decision to cancel his appearance in Kansas as well as all future appearances through the midterms was made for one reason.
He could no longer escape Epstein.
The crowds that used to cheer for him, support him and stand by him no matter what have turned.

BREAKING: Iran has completely changed its tactics for attacking oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, with Iranian speedboats attaching magnetic limpet mines directly to vessels’ hulls before withdrawing minutes ahead of detonation, crippling their engine rooms, per Reuters.
It marks the first successful use of hull-attached explosives in the waterway since the U.S.-Iran war began in February.
The tactical shift comes as Iran’s military announced that two “violating” oil tankers, which had disabled their AIS tracking systems in the eastern Strait, caught fire after encountering sea mines.

BREAKING: Saudi Aramco has shut down the main oil distillation unit at its 550,000 barrel-a-day Ras Tanura oil refinery, the largest in Saudi Arabia, following Houthi attacks 3 days ago, per Bloomberg.
The main crude oil train took major damage and the unit is expected offline for at least a month.
It is the first attack-related shut down at Ras Tanura, which also houses the world's largest oil export terminal.

Leaked Israeli documents reveal how Benjamin Netanyahu's government waged a secret campaign to stop boycotts of Israel in Britain.
That included a "sensitive" meeting with Michael Gove -- when he was justice secretary in 2015 -- about countering the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement.
Israel’s lobbying campaign was led by its justice minister Ayelet Shaked, who met Gove in London in November 2015.
Shaked, from the far-right Jewish Home party, was alarmed by a European Commission plan to label goods produced on illegally occupied Palestinian land as originating from an “Israeli settlement”.
The issue was consequently high on Shaked’s agenda, with the Israeli government fearing that the labels would help pro-Palestine boycott campaigns.
Gove “enjoyed” meeting Shaked and specifically requested “more information” from the Israeli embassy on the labelling issue, the leaked emails show.
Israel’s foreign ministry then arranged for an analysis to be prepared for Gove “as soon as possible” on the imminent EU measures.
“I am aware of the workload, but there is an unusual window of opportunity here”, noted one Israeli official, apparently referring to Gove’s openness to guidance.
