This might sound crazy.
But one of the skills you NEED to learn is how to deal with a more and more illiterate society full of emotionally dysregulated people.
If you keep getting frustrated every day over how "ďumb" everything/everyone seems, the stress of it is going to wreck your mind.

when I was 16 years old, I also believed that the reason I couldn't enjoy anything was because I was operating on a "higher plane of conciousness" and everyone else was just dumb
turns out I was just immature and depressed
learning how to enjoy things IS wisdom.
Clavicular says he can’t enjoy normal life because he sees past the lies that low-sentience people believe in.
When asked what people don’t understand about him:
"I don't think anyone will ever really understand me. I don’t really like to get that deep with people. Never have, probably never will."
When asked why he feels disconnected from everyone else:
"I feel like I'm able to see past the facades and lies so easily that nothing can be fun. I can’t enjoy things the way low sentience people can, like sports."

Everyone is always rooting for you. Your parents want you to be a great son. Wife wants you to be a great husband. Your boss wants you to be a slam dunk hire. Every first date you’ve ever been on they’ve been rooting for you to get laid. Every time you started to tell a joke people hoped it would have a hilarious punch line. Your proximity to anyone is a reflection of themself, meaning the deck is never stacked against you, and your failures are completely your own

The reason you're not creative. Not motivated. Not focused.
AKA the stuff that came easy to you as a kid.
Is that every form of "relaxing" in our society is SMASHING our minds with serotonin and dopamine.
TikTok. Video games. Drinking. WATCHING sports.
If you're doing these to relax, your mind is never at rest.
Like a dude spending every waking minute in a strip club. You'll become numb to things that used to drive you wild. Your motivation to chase plummets.
When you relax, you have to actually relax and empty the mental bucket.
Drop it all. Read. Pick up an instrument. Lift. Keep your phone in a drawer far away from you. DEPRIVE yourself of the easy serotonin and dopamine.
All that gusto you used to have as a kid will come right back. Then USE the drive on what matters. AKA the thing, the work. Then ACTUALLY relax again.
99% of people are on a treadmill. They do low-focus, low-creativity, ass work... Then get home and scroll, eat sugar, play video games/scroll/watch Fox News/CNN, wank, binge Netflix and repeat.
Like the guy in the strip club, they can no longer enjoy the "curves" of life because they're in overdrive... staring at ass and tits 24/7.
You're not getting old or dull or necessarily suffering from ADHD.
Your brain just hasn't had a breather in years.

I hope this doesn’t break your heart, you will never make money playing online cryptocurrency slots
Sometimes I wonder if that million dollar hit I had years ago was a net negative on society.
Or how the context was framed. Gambling my net worth was a means to the end of YouTube content. And I actually just got lucky enough to hit for $1.5m
Gambling I suppose is to be framed as an experience you are paying for, sometimes in the past I portrayed it poorly.
I love gambling cuz it’s gambling. Not cuz it’s possible to make money from it

Technology like this makes me even more bullish on tier 1 global city real estate.
The internet is about to be ABSOLUTELY NUKED by all this AI garbage on the internet, including realistic rendered AI companions that sadly a lot of lonely and isolated people will become addicted too.
There's going to be a huge counterelite movement against being terminally online, against spending all this time around this fake bot world,
so the demand to live in the best and most central neighborhoods in the biggest and best cities on the planet? They're going to SOAR.
Places like Central Tokyo, Bangkok, Manhattan + Brooklyn, Zone 1/2 London, Paris's best Arrondissements,
they're all going to feel like charged up fun and hot college campuses. The premium to be there will be even HIGHER.
The 2030s will probably be the most fun decade to ever be in a city.

Speaking of dopamine, gooning literally ruins your brain and your will to live and accomplish something.
Gooning also ruins society believe it or not.
Personal and collective progress demands the delay and redirection of libido in the full Freudian sense.
Civilization itself is only possible through this mechanism.
Freud argued in Civilization and Its Discontents (right pic) that society exists because humans learn to renounce immediate instinctual satisfaction.
The raw sexual (and aggressive) energy of the id must be postponed, and sublimated into higher cultural, economic, and creative achievements.
Without this disciplined deflection of libido, complex social orders erode.
Corn offers the opposite: immediate, low-friction, high-potency discharge.
It delivers intense visual stimulation and orgasm with zero courtship cost, zero rejection risk, and zero need for real-world effort.
This short-circuits the entire psychic system.
The energy that should be delayed and redirected into pursuing real relationships, building status, creating art, mastering skills, or competing in the sexual marketplace simply leaks out in repetitive, solitary loops.
Successful sublimation is replaced by cheap discharge.

Only fools waste their daily dopamine reserves instead of weaponizing them.
Dopamine holds the keys for better focus, creative ideas, mood, cognitive flexibility, libido, short-term memory, learning, mental drive, energy, and a good life experience overall.

Reading a book after doomscrolling is like eating a carrot after a sleeve of Oreos.
Of course it’s going to feel bad. You just spent 45 minutes consuming content designed to keep you in a hypnotic, neuron frying trance.
Nothing is more stimulating than that little black mirror in your pocket. It is designed to trick your primordial hardwiring by preying on your needs, wants, and desires.
If you have any modicum of self respect this should infuriate you. Your potential is being wiped for ad revenue.
You are betraying yourself for nothing

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.
