BREAKING: A woman is shot directly outside the Republican Party of Virginia's headquarters in downtown Richmond, just days before the midterm elections.
Police and first responders rush to the scene outside the Obenshain Center Thursday afternoon. The Virginia GOP confirms all party staff members are safe and says there is no indication the shooting is connected to its operations.
Authorities have not yet disclosed what led to the gunfire or the woman's condition.
The shooting comes as voters prepare to head to the polls on November 3.
