everybody is out in the city tonight because we are all worried that today may be the last really nice day this year.

I'm going out of town this weekend so this is my last sunrise at Lake Michigan for October 2026. 😭 We have been blessed with the gift of spectacular October weather this year.

I heard this car crash today on Lakeshore Drive. I was on the breakwall next to the water a little before 7:00 a.m. admiring yet another gorgeous sunrise. All of the sudden, I heard screeching tires and the unmistakable sound of a car hitting something really hard. If you've ever witnessed/heard a car accident, you know that sound. I couldn't see anything because the breakwall is much lower than LSD but I knew it was bad. I should have called 911 right then. I didn't and feel bad. About ten minutes later, I heard sirens. I finished my walk just now and found this car parked near the softball fields. I hope they are okay. 🥺

on my walk this morning, I saw a hawk almost eat one of those little birds that takes dirt baths. the little bird got away but I'm still thinking about it. I know...I know... circle of life and all that but my momma heart cannot help but think of that little bird. 😭
