BREAKING: COURT SACKS UZODIMMA AS APC SENATORIAL CANDIDATE, ORDERS INEC TO PUBLISH OKOROCHA The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Governor Hope Uzodimma to stop presenting himself as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Imo West Senatorial District in the 2027 elections. Justice Obiora Egwuatu ruled that former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha won the party’s senatorial primary held on May 18, 2026, and ordered the APC to submit his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for publication. The ruling follows a legal challenge by Okorocha, who disputed INEC’s recognition of Uzodimma as the party’s candidate.

Few months ago PayPal announced it is coming back to Nigeria. Just yesterday, Google pay announced it is coming to Nigeria, what changed? What changed is that Brazil, Russia and China have created a parallel global payment system that is independent and insulated from American sanctions.

This is the most honest and balanced opinion someone has given about Nigeria and UAE. Notice how she didn’t demean her country despite living abroad and you can already guess the ethnicity she comes from.

When Nigeria was prepared to lead an ECOWAS intervention force in Niger following the coup, it was Nigerians themselves who opposed the move. In the north the opposition was driven by ethnic sentiments. In the south we had "imperialist" conspiracy theories. We even had one conspiracy nut job steal and release to the public classified documents relating to Nigeria's strike plans. The security implications of allowing a military regime become entrenched on Nigeria's doorstep was overshadowed by emotion, political sentiment, and conspiracy narratives. Today, our border with the Niger Republic is the most dangerous and porous entry point for terrorists and bandits coming from the Sahel. That said, there is a $13 billion Trans Saharan Gas Pipeline Project that connects Nigeria, Algeria, and Niger. Over 2,400 kilometres of the pipeline have already been completed across Nigeria and Algeria. The remaining 1,600 kilometre stretch will pass through Niger. An unstable Niger jeopardizes the entire project, so Algeria's military involvement is a strategic and pragmatic decision.
Algerian stationing thier troops in Niger,is an insult to west Africa and Nigeria particularly, Nigeria is supposed to be the country having influence over the security in the sahel, a strong Nigeria is a Nigeria that can provide security to west Africa and the sahel

President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate commencement of efforts to clear more than 300 containers of electricity equipment stranded at Nigerian ports, with some reportedly held for between 14 and 20 years over unpaid charges and unresolved customs procedures. The directive forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to recover potentially usable power infrastructure and address longstanding constraints in Nigeria’s electricity transmission network. Minister of Power, Olasunkanmi Tegbe, disclosed the development on Wednesday while briefing journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Tinubu at the State House, Abuja. Tegbe described the prolonged detention of the equipment as unacceptable, saying the containers had remained at the ports for years because previous administrations failed to settle outstanding charges and complete the necessary clearance processes. According to the minister, the President directed the Ministry of Power to work with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to resolve the outstanding issues and facilitate the release of the equipment. Tinubu also instructed the relevant agencies to reconcile outstanding charges where necessary to bring the prolonged delays to an end. The minister explained that technical experts would inspect the equipment after clearance to determine its condition and suitability for deployment across the country’s electricity network. He said materials found to be serviceable would be incorporated into ongoing power infrastructure projects, while obsolete or unusable equipment would be handled appropriately.

Lagos State Government gives residents, employers until Dec 31 to get health insurance as enforcement begins in 2027 The Lagos State Government has announced that health insurance will become mandatory for residents, workers and employers from January 1, 2027. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this known on Wednesday while launching the Lagos Private Health Plans (LPHP) at an event in Victoria Island themed, “Lagos Covered, a Shared Commitment, a Healthier Lagos.” According to the governor, enforcement of Executive Order EO/BOS/01 of 2024 will begin on January 1, 2027, giving residents and employers until December 31, 2026, to obtain the required health insurance coverage. Sanwo-Olu explained that the policy was aimed at ensuring residents can access quality healthcare without being pushed into financial hardship by medical bills. He said the responsibility for achieving universal coverage would be shared by individuals, employers and the government, adding that employers should consider workers’ healthcare “a necessary cost of doing business,” just like pensions and other statutory obligations. The newly introduced LPHP will provide coverage for salaried workers and corporate organisations, while the existing Ilera Eko scheme will continue to focus on vulnerable residents and those in the informal sector. The governor also warned healthcare providers against denying emergency treatment because of a patient’s inability to pay, stressing that patients must first be stabilised before payment or insurance matters are addressed. He disclosed that 21 health maintenance organisations had already endorsed the new plans, describing the initiative as a partnership between the government and private operators.

I spoke with a Gen Z doctor today who graduated from LASUCOM. I told him that LASUCOM is one of the educational legacies of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Asiwaju established the Lagos State College of Medicine in 1999 and upgraded General Hospital Ikeja to a teaching hospital. He also ensured the College obtained all necessary accreditations by 2005. The college has produced over 1400 healthcare professionals, and it remains the number 1 state-owned college of medicine in Nigeria. Of course, he didn't know...

Norway discovered oil and, - created a Sovereign Wealth Fund - raised income tax to 40% - did not introduce subsidy Nigeria discovered oil and, - introduced subsidy on fuel, forex, health, education, etc - reduced income tax to 7% Faux intellectuals like you destroyed Nigeria
Norway uses its oil wealth to support public services, including education. Young Norwegian students can attend public universities without tuition fees, while children benefit from free public primary and secondary education. Nigeria is also an oil-producing country, we should borrow a leaf from Norway and turn our oil wealth into better schools, affordable university education, and opportunities for young people. Our natural resources should improve the lives of our people, not just enrich a few, stop defending the politicians who are impoverishing you with their inhumane policies.
