AMNIOS was the Psygnosis shooter that asked you to fly like Asteroids and clean a planet like a surgeon. Released in 1991 the Commodore Amiga shoot ’em up published by Psygnosis and developed by Flying Chicken Software, and it was fun. Amiga Action magazine rated it a worthy 93% saying "Put simply, Amnios is the best shoot'em-up that has been released for a long time." What did you think of it?

Check it out. Demo is available.
Walls break. Cover disappears. Tiny details become tactical problems. If you miss the kind of battlefield interaction we loved in Silent Storm and Men of War, this is very much where our inspiration comes from. Violence of Action demo is available now on Steam.

This is making me ponder about getting a Vectrex and whatever accelerator/expansion required to play it!

A more fluid sim centered demo from dev day 672: the third major biome of the game: the swamplands. Pls wishlist 🥹🙏🏻 #unity3d #solodev #indiegamedev #vfx
Drivers dev day 672: swamp biome. First proper version of the swamp biome. This is light years ahead of the first prototype from last year. a good third of the game will be played on the swamps so it needs to be on par with the desert and the arctic.

“You can’t do a first-person shooter on the Amiga.” Alien Breed 3D (1995, Team17 / Ocean) was the first-person pivot of Team17’s top-down Alien Breed series, built for AGA Amigas (A1200, A4000, CD32) after Commodore had already collapsed. The story is, Team17 asked id Software about licensing Doom for the Amiga. It never happened. Martyn Brown later recalled John Carmack saying a proper first-person shooter could not be done on the machine; another account says the licence fee was set so high the game would have been uneconomic. Either way, Team17 hired Andy Clitheroe, a University of York maths student who already had a software 3D engine, and shipped it as Alien Breed 3D in October 1995. What did you think of Alien Breed 3D on the Amiga?
