We are the Child Health Research Foundation. Guided by our commitment to prevent infections and save lives, we move forward every day with hope and purpose. Our work is for #Bangladesh, in #Bangladesh, and with #Bangladesh — rooted in the belief that together, we can build a healthier future.
1/ As World Phage Week 2026 comes to a close, we are reflecting on what research continues to reveal about bacteriophages, the viruses that kill bacteria.

7/ At CHRF, we continue to explore these possibilities as part of our commitment to a future where no child dies or suffers disability from a preventable disease.

1/ Every good detective knows that even the smallest clue can lead to a big discovery. In life sciences, those clues might begin with tiny colonies growing on a plate, helping researchers uncover the stories behind bacteria that cause serious illness.
4/ But the investigation doesn't end there. And now, our researchers continue to study Salmonella Typhi, tracking antibiotic resistance and revealing new clues to help protect children from typhoid.
1/ CHRF offers Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) to support the investigation of complex and undiagnosed genetic conditions. By combining next-generation sequencing with bioinformatics analysis and clinical interpretation, our service helps identify and classify genetic variants.
2/ Genetic counselling is available at no additional cost to help individuals and families better understand the testing process and results.
3/ For further information, contact the CHRF Diagnostic Division at 01894800682 or email [email protected]
1/ Interested in exploring bacterial genomics, bioinformatics, and antimicrobial resistance through hands-on learning? CHRF’s 5-Day Workshop on Bacterial Genomics and Antimicrobial Resistance is now open for applications!

2/ Participants will learn to analyze bacterial genomes from sequence data, investigate antimicrobial resistance, and explore comparative genomics and phylogenetics through hands-on sessions.
1/ As International Infection Prevention Week comes to a close, we are reminded of the importance of preventing infections through everyday practices, continued research, and collective action.
