announcing @ambrook's $30M series B, led by lachy groom. instead of a fundraising video, we typed up a letter - if you're curious, give us your address (link in thread) and we'll send you some snail mail. like our customers already know, some good things take time.

I'm hiring someone to work directly with me in Denver. @Ambrook has grown a lot. As our Program Manager, you'd run the office, events, and ops that shape how the Mountain West meet us. - Raise the bar for our Cap Hill office that teammates love and builders want to visit - Host dinners and meetups for Denver's burgeoning tech community - Gather customers for research and travel the state to visit them - Make candidates feel at home during onsites as we keep hiring - Rebuild systems with AI when they break - Take on special projects with the founders: me, @ciaomack, @danrschlosser You'll see how every part of a startup works, growing into what you're best at / what gives you energy. DM me! We'll probably fill this within a week or two.
I don’t think most people understand what good ops people do at startups. let me try to explain. good ops people are basically unfazed by anything you throw at them. they have looked into the abyss and are fine. there is no task that seems too trivial or too outlandish. at ambrook, they have: - cold called every farm in hawaii until we got our first hawaiian customer, because I told them we could go there for a team retreat if they pulled it off - waken up at 5:30 am to check on calves of early customers so we could onboard them later that day - badgered ups in a different city to deliver a package day of in time for an event, to the point where the package was delivered but their ups account was canceled for overloading their phone lines - only responded with “lol ok” when told we wanted to roast a wild boar for our annual holiday party, and then called a dozen chefs in the city to get it done - managed the full search, lease and buildout process of a new office despite having no experience in buildouts - etc if this reminds you of someone (or you), we’re hiring for that person in both sf and denver

human review is still the bottleneck for most AI migrations today. so we designed an agent graph around the needs of the reviewer… and migrated our entire design system (54k lines, 794 files) in 2 weeks with no major regressions. here's how we did it ambrook.com/engineering/ai/m…

lotta talk about software factories. we built one earlier this year, and our team recently wrote a short practical guide on how we did it. critically, we aimed to enable operators on the team to ship to prod too. your factory may have a different goal ambrook.com/engineering/ai/b…

oh you’re becoming a grid billionaire? well my muse has been running a small army of agents finding arb 24/7 on Facebook marketplace and estate sales across the globe
If anyone needs ideas for bootstrapped AI apps, and is passionate about vintage furniture + art, here’s an rfs: - Export my Pinterest board to Facebook marketplace and Craigslist and find me all the similar pieces in my area, and/or - Search Facebook marketplace listings in my area / with custom parameters, run them through Google reverse image search and tell me what the biggest arbs are between listing price and the auction prices listed on Google to find the best deals, and/or - Some layer on my phone camera where I can point it at an item in real life and it runs the reverse image search for me and pops up with a little info card that tells me what it is and how much it’s going for online (this is just short cutting me doing this for every piece on Google reverse image search) I would pay for each of these

our downstairs neighbors are doing us a favor storing some of our desk chairs one evening next week (while we transform our office into a brothers grimm fairy tale banquet hall) and our teammate put together this little care package as a thank you 🥹

At Ambrook, we're hiring a Brand Designer to work with CD @aaslordhunter, bringing ai-native fintech to the rest of America. We should talk if you: - have work you're proud of, but are ready for a new challenge - want to make bold campaigns, activations, and product moments with no playbooks - craft real things yourself and stand up ai systems to clear your plate - bring curiosity and reverence to industries across the physical economy - never underestimate your customer - want to see the country and spend time outside DM me!

The star here is the thoughtful engineering content, but also — I’ve never seen a company express their values through brand and product design as clearly as @ambrook. Love this blog

engineering is art
Every piece of art on our engineering blog is drawn by hand. Inspired by artists like Frank Lloyd Wright and Ruth Asawa who found structure in organic forms, we started from the verbs that shape an engineer’s work: tracing, measuring, scaling, looping, mirroring, assembling, branching.
