3/4 Public buyers face the same calculation, with public money. Under the proposed Cloud and AI Development Act, they are supposed to procure cloud according to sovereignty criteria based on how sensitive the data is. 3/4
"Simplify" the Cloud and AI Development Act: ITRE rapporteur @diegosolier (ECR) says its sovereignty requirements could be eased during the procedure. Good news if we simplify what costs, as long as we reinforce true sovereignty. 1/4
What duplicates: proving again what is already proven. @secnumcloud in France, C5 in Germany are existing, audited frameworks. Accept them as evidence: prove once, not twenty-seven times. 3/4
What must be reinforced: true sovereignty - no loopholes, plus an obligation to look at the European offer first, or explain why not. The rapporteur's view, via MLex: mlex.com/mlex/articles/eu-s-… 4/4

#DigitalNetworksAct: Will existing backdoors for #NetworkFees remain open, putting #NetNeutrality at risk? 🚨
"As MEPs considers amendments, they must scrutinise the legal backdoors already in the DNA and reject attempts to make them stronger."

[1/3] 🇪🇺Trading land and power for AI access is capitulation, not strategy.
Europe's dependence on overseas #AI providers is a problem. But fast-tracking Big Tech data centres in exchange for preferential access to their models risks making that dependency worse.
🧵👇
⚠️ The deal doesn't add up.
Europe would offer valuable land, energy and infrastructure without guaranteed access to the most advanced AI models.
As CISPE's Mikkel Brun Næsager argues, Europe risks paying more for less, while reinforcing its dependence on Big Tech.
[3/3] ✅ Europe needs to invest in its own cloud & AI ecosystem.
As #CADA takes shape, public procurement can help European providers grow and compete.
#DigitalSovereignty starts with choosing 🇪🇺 solutions.

No warning. No recourse.
A clear illustration of the risks that arise when technologies Europe increasingly relies on remain subject to foreign control.

[3/4] One loophole excludes entities that can disrupt a service simply because they do not access sensitive data.
Another excludes critical software, platform, and infrastructure dependencies because they sit behind indirect contractual relationships.
⚠️ As Europe's cloud market fills with unverified "sovereign" offerings, customers deserve clarity.
