Fish are sentient animals, capable of experiencing pain. Yet their welfare is too often overlooked.

These two images could not be any more different. They deserve better. Closing the gap between the farming we imagine and what animals actually experience starts with looking honestly at the system and demanding change.

Thank you for caring about farmed animals and for helping turn that care into change.💚

Imagine being unable to turn around. That’s what confinement in a gestation crate means for a mother pig. These narrow cages severely restrict movement and prevent behaviors as basic as exploring her surroundings. No animal should have to live this way.

A patch of earth to explore. Space to forage. Room to move. For farmed animals, these opportunities should be part of everyday life. We’re working toward a food system that gives animals the space, care, and surroundings they need to express their natural behaviors.

Fish can suffer during capture, handling, and slaughter. Their welfare deserves a place in conversations about the future of our oceans. Protecting marine life means caring about what individual animals experience. #ReThinkFish #protectouroceans #marinelife

Recognizing that is a starting point. Changing how we treat them is the work ahead. #EndFactoryFarming #AnimalWelfare

Thank you, @NYCMayor. The abusive horse carriages industry has no place in our great city!
The horse carriage industry is coming to an end in New York City. Our administration will make sure workers and owners are protected and the horses are safe.

It's #GlobalFertilizerDay. Chemical fertilizers can fuel emissions, poison water & degrade soils - and are linked to illnesses. An alternative is possible. Agroecology regenerates soil, support farmers & feeds communities. 🔎Find out more ciwf.org/our-work/our-work-w…

Cages are one of the worst factory farming practices there is. Gestation crates, as pictured on the left, are so small that pigs confined in them cannot even turn around. This cruelty needs to end. #EndTheCageAge
