Week two after launch, honest numbers: - 30% off for 5 days: 0 sales - Giveaway of 10 free licences: 1 entry - Total sales: 1 That one customer found 2 bugs. Fixed both same day, and he loves it. Lesson: a discount can't sell what people haven't tried. @smoothcutstudio

Giving away 10 SmoothCut licences ($79 each). It's the screen recorder I built: it zooms in on what you click and smooths your cursor, so a demo looks edited without editing. Mac and Windows. Want one? Reply with what you'd record. I'll pick 10 on Friday.

Screen Studio is great. I still built an alternative: - It's Mac-only. Almost half my users are on Windows. - It's $108+/year. SmoothCut is $79 once. - I wanted on-device captions, raw files for Resolve, and Claude driving it. Same auto zoom. Different trade-offs.

October 2026 revenue: IndieKit: $0 Everything else: $0 SmoothCut: $79 Total: $79. One sale, and it came from a ChatGPT answer, not my Product Hunt launch. Most people only post the good months. This is a $79 month.

My only sale didn't come from Product Hunt, X or cold email. It came from a link in a ChatGPT answer. Downloaded a minute later, paid 6 hours after. So now I write for AI answers too: comparison pages, how-to guides, llms.txt. Builders, where did your first sale come from?

Put an MCP server inside my screen recorder: now Claude, Cursor or VS Code can "record my screen", read the transcript, and "export my last recording as a GIF". Local only (127.0.0.1 + a token), off by default. How launch week went: nitter.cf/cjsingg/status/2116032…

Founders: check what happens after the download. Mine: ~30 downloads → 6 installs → 0 people made a video. My onboarding blocked you until 4 macOS permissions were granted. Rebuilt it to explain each one first. Launch numbers and fixes: nitter.cf/cjsingg/status/2116032…

Week one after launching my screen recorder on Product Hunt: 21 upvotes, ~15 downloads a day, 0 launch sales. The leak wasn't traffic. ~30 downloads became 6 installs and 0 videos, because of 4 Mac permission prompts up front. What I changed: nitter.cf/cjsingg/status/2116032…

Modi has accepted defeat even before our protest has begun. The mass crackdown on protesters and the shutdown of Delhi are not signs of strength, but of a leader terrified of his own people.
