The @WestonFdn #GlobalTreeSeedBank germination specialist has used his magical method to germinate the seeds of three highly threatened Malagasy tree species at the Millennium Seed Bank. These are now growing on in the nursery and will soon be towering over us on display at Kew.

Enthused by the work of 🇬🇧 SaniTap in Fort Dauphin. Its MadAvance initiative provides clean water to over 600,000 people. Its provision of 120,000 #cleancooking stoves in 🇲🇬 will also protect respiratory health and address one of the drivers of #deforestation in #Madagascar.

Having worked with @ProfAHFahal for years I have seen the dedication of the @MycetomaRC team to ending the suffering of those living with the debilitating disease...to see all that work and effort in ruins is incredibly sad...

Since 2015, the #Mycetoma Research Centre (MRC) in Khartoum, #Sudan, has been the only @WHO collaborating centre on Mycetoma and Skin Neglected Tropical Diseases.
I visited the centre in 2018, and at the time it was treating over 8000 patients from Africa, Asia and beyond.
This unique institution has now been destroyed in the war.
Each destruction has immediate and long-term impacts on people’s health and lives.
We call for an end to attacks on health institutions and facilities.
Ceasefire!

If you’re a charity working in this area, why not think about applying?

Spent a couple of hours scrambling and fighting through the undergrowth looking for this CR Dombeya milleri in Montagne des Français, only to find it right by the side of the path 😁 thanks to the unmatched skills of this legend Richard 'Papa' Razakamalala
The @WestonFdn #GlobalTreeSeedBank will be able to learn about, and collect seeds from this population, increasing it's chances of survival. Last day of fieldwork with @TeamKMCC but a very successful mission!
