PISS's debut dropped today and I implore you to listen. I've been floored by their intense live sets a bunch the past two years, and the album delivers. Brilliant and devastating album about sexual assault and violence, both on a personal level and a larger cultural level.

Some of the most vulnerable and poignant music I've heard recently. It's rare to see a band go from playing DIY venues to signing with Sub Pop this quick before even having an album out, but it's well deserved and the result of the waves and impact their live sets have had.

Village Of Savoonga - Phillip Schatz (1996) Had no idea what this was going to be like when I got it, but WOW it's great. Village Of Savoonga was an experimental post-rock band from Germany. So many styles blended here, all done extremely well. Love this

The second track blindsides you with what is essentially a krautrock atmosludge song and it just works so well

Then they immediately follow it up with a minimalist indie rock song that's also really damn good. This has been on repeat a lot this past week
