Thank you, Kooyong!
Thanks to the incredible volunteers, dedicated team members, and passionate supporters who’ve stood beside me throughout this campaign.
Over the past months you’ve worked tirelessly - flyering, door knocking, having thousands of conversations.
Thank you.

No matter what happens, there’s no community independent without community. Last night was a celebration of all the heart, hustle, and hope you’ve poured into this campaign. We laughed, we danced, we held our breath… and we’ll keep showing up for each other, whatever comes next.

Monash! INSANE result.
Firstly, the two-party primary is just 52.4% 🤯🤯
Nearly half of all voters backed an IND or minor party here. “4 horse races” are now possible.
INCREDIBLE campaign by @debleonard & community.
INCREDIBLY complex count ahead.

As the election gets closer, the momentum builds here in #monash, thank you to all the wonderful volunteers on this campaign journey with me!

It was surprising and disappointing that the Liberal candidate for Kooyong failed to turn up to the community’s Friends of the ABC event this week.
It’s increasingly clear that the Liberal Party has less and less interest in a strong, independent media.

An example given by @simonahac to illustrate how the Community Independents are disadvantaged in our electoral system;
Today if you donate $1500 to Dan Tehan in Wannon, it's tax deductible.
But, if you donate $1500 to Community Independent Alex Dyson, it's not tax deductible.

Support for Australia's major parties has reached an all-time low, making way for a slew of fresh new Independents.
So, Georgie Tunny sat down with McPherson candidate Erchana Murray-Bartlett and Wannon candidate Alex Dyson to find out what they're all about.

Santos was fined $10,000 for spilling ~25,000L of oil off WA - it cost them less than a nursing degree.
"In Norway, they tax their oil industry & give kids free degrees while in Australia we subsidise the oil industry & charge kids a fortune to go to uni."

BREAKING: The Labor and Liberal parties may not agree on much but when it comes to introducing a new law that ensures taxpayer funding for their election campaigns under the guise of stopping Clive Palmer, but which will actually stop newcomers from competing with them, you can be sure they'll pass it and lock in the two party system by Christmas.
