My skin color is NOT A costume. Blackface comes from a dark history of racism, slavery and the dehumanization of My people. Our skin, our features, and our very existence were mocked and turned into entertainment by people who saw us as less than human. Our ancestors endured generations of cruelty, humiliation and suffering, and their humanity was treated like a joke. This isn’t just about putting on darker makeup. It’s about the painful history behind it and what it represents. It’s 2026, and somehow we STILL have to explain why this is offensive. It’s insulting, disrespectful and honestly exhausting. Educate yourselves google is free!
