The Book is In!
It’s been a great journey to write and to my surprise managed to end the book with sincere hope about the future.

It’s happening. The takedown of Jimmy Kimmel is likely the start of a campaign to use the murder of Charlie Kirk as a pretext to use the power of the White House to wipe out Trump’s critics and his political opponents.
But we aren’t powerless. We can mobilize and organize. Now.

What’s at stake here is free speech.
Across the board, we’ve seen the Trump administration use the power of government to go after anybody who’s criticized them — and in this case, Jimmy Kimmel.
We need to all stand up and speak out.

Not a big fan of Jimmy Kimmel, but if you think his show should be canceled for this, you’re a hack and a total fraud who should never pretend to care about free speech

It's been a while since 2012. Journalists covering the presidential election beat would do well to revisit @cmcilwain and Stephen Caliendo's important work on how race is deployed in U.S. political campaigns.
And adjust your coverage accordingly.

ALT A colorful poster that reads: “Black History Month Spotlight!” There is the title of a book review along with a quote: “‘Black Tech Matters: A Review of Charlton McIlwain’s Black Software.’ A Book Review by Codi Renee Blackmon. ‘Interweaving the history of computer science, print and digital archives, and personal interview transcripts, McIlwain narrates how Black people built diverse networks of Black activists, journalists, public officials, and a mass of anonymous Black strangers to distribute Black content in digital spaces.’” There is a photo of the book cover, a bright green background with a pixelated black power fist.

Can we rebrand
“Late Night Twitter”
to
“Kinky Kumputers”?
We wouldn’t be the first to do it; first was AfroNet (see @cmcilwain’s Black Software)
