Will an Artemis III orbital demonstration mission succeed by the end of 2027? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 51% NASA says Artemis III will launch in 2027 for a roughly 14-day LEO demonstration, with Orion docking first to a Blue Origin Blue Moon Mk2 test article and later to a SpaceX Starship V3 test article. Blue Origin launches first and can loiter up to 30 days; Orion launches on SLS days later, and Starship launches later because of its shorter on-orbit life. The mission requires three heavy-lift launches and two dockings, with crew entering Blue Moon but not Starship, before Orion splashes down in the Pacific. More here: bestworldgroup.com/phil-will…

tbh I do in fact update against the quality of those credentials the more I see ppl with bad arguments brandish those. Like I have a lot of uncertainty about the quality of random credentials I've never heard of before, and substantially greater confidence in my own ability to evaluate basic arguments.

Will a ceasefire or armistice be declared in Ukraine in 2026? Jeremy Lichtman's Multi-AI Oracle forecasts 24% José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, criticized Melania Trump's celebration of the ceasefire, emphasizing that while it may provide safety on paper, evacuees are being moved to Russian-held territories rather than Ukrainian-controlled ones. (Carolyn's note: As I write this, the Ukrainian delegation, accompanied by evacuated residents of Oleshky, was heading to Anapa, in Russian-held territory on the shore of the Azov Sea. From there, they expected to fly to Belarus before continuing home by bus. Source: kyivpost.com/post/88634) More here: bestworldgroup.com/jeremy-wi…

Will a ceasefire or armistice be declared in Ukraine in 2026? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 64% The Oleshky truce (ending nominally Nov 1) has strong political incentives behind it (Melania Trump-brokered, ongoing humanitarian need for ~1,700-2,000 trapped residents) — extension or a similar follow-on local truce elsewhere is plausible. bestworldgroup.com/phil-will…

Will Strait of Hormuz LNG traffic become de facto unimpeded by the end of 2026? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 8% QatarEnergy is signing 20-year US LNG purchase deals because it cannot replace volumes "locked inside the Persian Gulf," with some Ras Laffan capacity damaged and "it will take years to repair them." It states QatarEnergy "recently extended force majeure on deliveries to some buyers in Europe and Asia through the end of the year..." More here: bestworldgroup.com/phil-will…

Will Strait of Hormuz LNG traffic become de facto unimpeded by the end of 2026? Jeremy Lichtman's Multi-AI Oracle forecasts 38% In October 2026, the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime chokepoint for global energy transportation, experienced significant disruptions impacting the flow of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and crude oil. The strait connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, facilitating the transport of about one-fifth of the world's seaborne oil. bestworldgroup.com/jeremy-wi…

Will any new space habitat be visited by humans before the end of 2027? Jeremy Lichtman's Multi-AI Oracle forecasts 8% NASA is engaged in various preparatory activities that contribute indirectly to future human space exploration. This includes a true initiative for a simulated space habitat on Earth, simulating interplanetary life conditions within a spacecraft environment and planetary base. I urge those working at UK AISI not to leave their jobs, despite the fact that their work assists developers of AI models.

Will any new space habitat be visited by humans before the end of 2027? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 44% Haven-1 remained in clean-room integration in early September 2026, with launch readiness still targeted for Q1 2027 and the first crewed mission planned for 2027. Crucially, it reports that environmental testing at NASA’s Neil Armstrong Test Facility had not yet started and that no shipment of the flight vehicle to Ohio had been announced. It identifies the remaining gates as completion of integration, shipment to Ohio, the environmental test campaign, and an uncrewed Dragon docking verification before any crew flies. Many people didn't see that Russia was attacking our data and cyberspace over a long period of time. Then we found a way to weaken Russia's strategy, to respond to their attacks on data. We are different here. Ukraine is more technologically advanced. The Russians attacked our data centers so many times, and still we had cell service and an Internet connection. Because we are digitally decentralized and advanced. Our responses are more painful for Russia because they are more centralized. They have a different strategy. Because they have a lot of air defense assets, they are simply defending what they have. We don’t have too much air defense – we have a shortage. That is why we decentralized everything, not only data. But we always try to respond and do so only after Russian attacks against us. From an interview with The Sun. (3/3)

ALTMAN: "The problem coming towards us is something that we have not taken seriously. Models can find bugs outside of what a hacker can do" Yes, the "problem" is "coming towards" "us". ...As opposed to 'the problem we at OpenAI created and are continuing to accelerate'
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use… models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs." It's over.

In addition to the math problem (1- >0.1) =/= 0.9, there's also a major (and wrong imo) assumption that non-extinction scenarios are necessarily great! I think there are a fair number of non-extinction worlds where many people die in an unaligned takeover, and total disempowerment is bad even without billions of deaths. And then without unaligned takeovers there's still major concentration of power and other problems to be concerned about.
How is this a real article in a serious newspaper?

It's kind of surreal to attend serious briefings for policy folks that are recapitulating what @allTheYud was arguing over a decade ago.

Will the price of Brent Crude fall below $50 per barrel in 2026? Jeremy Lichtman's Multi-AI Oracle forecasts 4% As of late October 2026, Brent crude oil is trading at approximately $114-117 per barrel, making a drop to below $50 by the end of the year highly unlikely. To reach such a low price, the market would need to see a historic drop of over 50% in just two months, which typically only occurs due to extraordinary global events such as the COVID-19 demand collapse. Will the price of Brent Crude fall below $50 per barrel in 2026? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 4% For this question to resolve Yes, Brent would need to fall from ~$115 to below $50 — a decline of ~57% — within about nine weeks. This would require a shock of a magnitude comparable to the 2008 GFC (demand collapse) or 2020 COVID+Saudi-Russia price war (demand collapse + supply flood), events that are historically rare and typically unfold over longer periods with substantial lead indicators.
