One of our local coaches was getting ripped apart on Facebook by an anonymous participant and I decided I don’t care what people think. I’m gonna reply because we’ve gotta start sticking up for ourselves as coaches and people. People like to sit behind a keyboard with their anonymous name tag So I responded. I hope we know as coaches we have to stick together and control the own narrative of our program.

I have so much respect for high school football coaches. It’s a sport that requires significant amount of time meeting and watching film. When you work a 9-5 all of that comes at the sacrifice of time with family and friends. Then they go out and have 1 shot a week to get it right. The whole town is there. They all have something to say when it’s not going well. The glory is great, but the stress and work has to be hard.

I always liked this coaching point: “If you’re going to make a mistake, make it at full speed.” Hesitation gets you beat.

LOL this dude fired two coordinators during a game in a six year span. I knew one of the guys was going to be a disaster about 20 slides into the Spring Install, before the season even started. Brutal.

If your son wants to play college FB but thinks his HS coaches are too hard on him, he probably doesn’t need to pursue college ball. It’s an entirely different level of urgency and intensity. Being coached hard isn’t for everyone and that’s ok. ~ from @RobertShipley2

i played CB -- off rip, he isnt threatening anyone with speed. when coming off the line, the WR is supposed to burst and attack my feet, get me to flip my hips and then cut. he just coming off the line with no urgency or burst. its looks like he doesnt want to be out there.

That’s because this was a result of Kirby Smart’s culture. You don’t see Kirby jumping into pools with high schoolers. It’s about football not uniforms.
5 years of Dan Lanning as a HC and I’ve never seen this level of championship level accountability. Not from him, other coaches or any player. I wanna see this more than anything.

Play callers: Begin each gameplan with one question? How can I help my OL to be successful? Scheme means nothing without protection and you can draw best play in the world and a sack negates it. Help your OL with tempo, max protect, move the pocket, and run the damn football

If the CFP truly values putting in the best 5 conference champs & then the next 7 best teams, Indiana should be left out if they are a 2 loss team finishing 10-2 or 11-2 (assumes they lose a Big 10 Championship). A lot of 9-3 BIG 10 or 9-3 SEC schools will have better resumes.
You're probably saying to yourself "at some point Indiana's schedule has to hit law of averages and be challenging." But let's take a look at 2028

Positive energy is contagious. And the #1 job of a coach is to create a culture. So the question becomes, how do you create a culture that has… Positive energy. High standards. Accountability. Good teaching. Because these are the cultures that win.
‼️ Joy is a competitive advantage ‼️ The mainstream perception of ‘good coaching’ is screaming at players, no joking around and no fun on the floor. A lot of coaches, players and fans view fun and hard work as an ‘either, or’. Every competitive coach struggles with this. There isn’t one who hasn’t lost the joy amidst the grind. BUT…. When JOY AND HARD WORK are in SYNC, it’s game over. 👇🏼 🎥 @Jakobrooks
