The moment AI companies propose an interesting new math problem, all this hysteria about AI destroying math goes away

I've posted some slides on my website outlining OpenAI's approach to disproving the exponential time hypothesis: msellke.com/Files/ETH-False-… The outline skips some steps, so it gains a smaller power of log(n) in the exponent than the fully optimized algorithm.

Deleting code is so much funner when it's someone else's code

Everyone is talking about agent swarms, usually in the context of bad stuff like hacking. But if you ever wanted to watch an agent swarm in action (this time working for good), the discussion board of the Integer Multiplication open research repo is really cool to watch

in 2026, your ability to read code matters but your ability to decide what code should exist matters way more

We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

Got tedious work you don’t wanna do? Turn it into a benchmark and AI companies will just do it for you!
LeanEval is the last unsaturated benchmark in mathematical formalization. Saturating it will require formalizing Fermat's Last Theorem. @axiommathai is currently in the lead. Leaderboard: lean-lang.org/eval/legacy/

SpaceXAI has just introduced Grok @Bot Creator Rewards! Rewards will go out every two weeks. Rewards are based on usage: • How many people use your Bots. Are your Bots useful and popular? • How often your Bots are used. Are your Bots providing consistent value over time? For your templates to be eligible for rewards, you must: • Post about your public Bots (and specifically link to them) on X ≥ 2x per pay period • Have X Money set up • Payouts will be sent as part of X’s Original Content Rewards for now.   In the last two weeks, I’ve earned $500 in rewards due to people using my Home Robots template 🔥 More info: legal.x.com/en/grok-bot-temp…

That’s not a good thing right? Super small number of people got to get in before all the growth, and only now the public can participate no?
My lord, three IPOs are worth more than… all IPOs in the last 45 years of tech 🤯

So then why are we saying there are problems we need to preserve?
What percent of all math that there is to know, do we know?
