The fact that this has to be said is sad. The left is supposed to be anti censorship and pro sexual liberation.
I understand that this is because DC has promoted that era relentlessly over the past few decades but I’m tired of seeing ppl cite his early post-crisis storylines as if its remotely helpful for understanding Lex’s character currently.

Tbh not explaining the ship dynamic even if it's implied to people who doesn't want to understand or even try to hear you out is a waste of time. That's what I did long ago and it's a peaceful path actually
Something fandoms have lost is the understanding that you can like an idea and want to explore it and also understand why it’s not like that in canon
Yeah this comment is a good demonstration of why the handwringing around good and evil in fiction is fundamentally a conservative impulse.

I feel like a lot of bad writing advice is people comparing apples to oranges, not realising that their role is to tell people how to tell the story they want to tell rather than telling them what to write.
