This was exactly my take on this quote. In Dawkins' defense, they are very good token guessing machines.

I'm reading @stewartbrand exquisite book Maintenance. It makes me wonder if I'd like to be more like Henry Ford or the Wright Brothers. Both changed the lives of many ordinary people including ours. I think I'd like to be one of the Wright brothers

I don't have enough follows for anyone to see this, but big games between big teams are defensive in any sport. It is trench warfare. I love it!

I've paused All-In because of the partisan nature of it. But this one, if you filter out of some of Sack's Newspeak, was pretty enlightening

American democracy is bottom up. It always has been when it worked. Top down is not American democracy.

CC Max user here. Use it every day. I no longer type code directly with few exceptions. Seriously, and not a brag, but if your contributions don't look something like this what comes after CC is suspect. Could be great, but how do we know?

Watch "All the President's Men" to remember Robert Redford and a more innocent time of politics like with Watergate

Me too. It's not like an obscure box on page 17 of the loan application. It's one of the first questions you are asked

I agree with the sentiments below. Caffeine is a thinking drug that should be available in all forms. That said, in the Bay Area when there is a Philz or Blue Bottle down the street that's where you go for your fix. Maybe not the case everywhere
Of course, last week IU abruptly decided we were no longer allowed to have free coffee in our kitchen.

I am a huge fan of #claudecode. I use it for hours every day, so this video youtube.com/live/6eBSHbLKuN0… is super helpful. But anyone who thinks we are close to AGI should reflect on what is happening here 1/2

Nice article by Steve Yegge on coding with agents: sourcegraph.com/blog/revenge… I'm an old timer who uses #claudecode in the terminal to write and manage close to 100% of my code. I read every change while it is making it and often redirect it. Using agents to code is a superpower

There is so much going on in this tweet. First, it's probably true that people who joined unicorns early got rich more often that the startup founders you know. And, you might not have intended it, but you imply that getting rich at all cost is an unalloyed good. Thanks!

2/"Open source everything" is a key lubricant for this model as it eliminates most (all?) debate and disputes about intellectual property ownership.

Two thoughts: 1/I think the ShapeUp (37Signals) approach of fixed cost / flexible scope makes this model work better. A lot of the work needs to be done before the work begins to narrow the acceptable scope "bar"...
