the spectacle of the new hunger games movie is ironic and tasteless to be quite frank, but hey what else can you expect from a society that treats mass murder of children like a theoretical quandary and not something we’re actively funding and enabling

Dear god. Just one day after the world united to condemn the US blockade of Cuba, @POTUS illegally seizes critical oil bound for the country's homes, hospitals, and schools — doubling down on a siege that has already cost scores of innocent lives. orinocotribune.com/us-coast-…

Ukraine did this after Cuba spent hundreds of millions of dollars treating thousands of sick Ukrainian children from Chernobyl. Cuba spent 20 years providing specialised care they couldn't afford in Ukraine. Ukraine paid nothing, voting to starve Cuba was their payment I guess.
Ukraine voting to starve Cuba but we're supposed to believe they are hereos and defenders of Europe?

western chauvinism is crazy because your entire society is run by landlords pedophiles and religious fanatics, you can do nothing to stop them, they have stalled progress in your country for generations, yet somehow you still have the temerity to call other leaders "dictators"

Bad news. Looks like Narco Rubio's thugs in Bolivia are going to arrest Nadia Beller, the lawyer who blew the lid off the US-Israeli black op to steal elections and empower the far right across Latin America -- the same Big Tech/CIA conspiracy that just fell short in Brazil.
SCOOP: Nadia Beller, the Bolivian whistleblower who survived an assassination attempt ordered by Trump associate and political operative Fernando Cerimedo, tells me authorities are seeking to arrest her as soon as Friday. According to sources within the Bolivian government and police, the case will argue that her (brave) testimony against Cerimedo’s crimes—which range from U.S. backed election interference to drug trafficking—is evidence she had prior knowledge and failed to report. Beller, a lawyer herself, cites multiple legal grounds for immunity and says this is an obvious attempt to silence her for exposing a corruption network spanning from Washington DC to Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, and beyond. Beller’s whistleblowing prompted investigations in Argentina and Chile, including a congressional commission probing Cerimedo. The Bolivian attorney general who arrested and charged Cerimedo with femicide for the attack on Beller was sanctioned by the U.S. and later detained by Bolivian authorities. Beller says she fears for her life and the life of her unborn child, which Cerimedo allegedly fathered. She is calling on the international community to support her in the face of political lawfare, attempted femicide, and state repression. Please share far and wide.

The Liberals are now the most anti-union party in Canada
Conservatives and Bloc and a lone Liberal MP joined the NDP in support of @LeahGazan's bill to protect Canadians' right to strike from S. 107. Sadly the bill was defeated by the rest of the Liberal caucus.

I'm not sure most Canadians realize what's happening right now with Indigenous folks and the Carney government. Today, voice after voice from Indigenous leadership, youth, from across the country, has been telling us they're gearing up for a fight for their rights. This is big!

selective weaponization of human rights has always been it’s usage by liberals internationally
CBC Radio interview today with a senior CIBC exec discussing Carney's UAE deal. The host gestured vaguely at human rights abuse. CIBC guy says "well, human rights and moral issues shouldn't be barriers to trade, because that would make the world very small for our exporters"😃

This story is not getting enough attention, even though it is a dark portent of the political repression on the horizon all around the NATO bloc. Five activists who damaged an Elbit Systems site in Ulm, Germany, are facing harsher treatment than the Reichsbürger, a far-right group accused of attempting to overthrow the German state by force. The two trials are being held in the same building. The Ulm5 are held in a maximum-security prison, marched into the courtroom in handcuffs, and seated behind bulletproof glass two meters tall. On day one, the judge switched off the microphones of the defence’s legal team, and has since repeatedly refused to hear their evidence and expert witnesses, while rejecting a motion for an independent stenographer to keep a record of the proceedings. The only written record of the trial is the judge's. Meanwhile, the Ulm5 all remain in prolonged detention — with stints in solitary confinement. The prosecution is seeking to argue that the attack was antisemitic in nature, as Elbit Systems is a “Jewish-owned company” and therefore the “baby killers” graffiti drawn by the activists amounts to blood libel. The case sets a chilling precedent for any actions taken against German militarism, and no doubt forms part of a wider arc of repression that now extends from Britain to Italy. That is why the activists’ call for international solidarity and support is so urgent.
