A great sporting legend with a strong GAA background in Camogie who would go on to bring honour to Ireland through her athletics. Sadly missed by never forgotten.
Ciara Mageean died this morning. A light has gone out in the world. Authentic, talented, decent. Her kindness and wonderful personality was a joy to watch and see. Then came her iconic sporting achievements.
When we sat down with Ciara for the GAA Social in July, she received disappointing news the day before. Ciara didn’t want to cancel, so we recorded on the Tuesday. It’s 90 minutes Oisin & myself will always treasure. She was the best of us.
To Thomas, I’m so sorry. She was mad about you. To the Mageean family, all her great friends and the Portaferry community- what a stunning human being, to call one of your own. This is so unfair.
I’ve never met a person who met Ciara, who didn’t love her. A one off.

Family Bingo tonight at 7:30pm in the Club. Last one we did was during GT24 and was a great evening. Tonight will be even better. Hope to see you there.
Halloween Family Bingo this Friday at Con Magees Club. Same prizes as regular Bingo so guaranteed fun for the young & not so young. Bar open, spot prizes & free refreshments for all. Halloween costumes welcomed! The last time we did this was so much fun. This will be even better.
