Microsoft expands automatic Windows event auditing in Defender for Identity! ​ Automatic Windows event auditing now also supports: ​ • Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) • Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) • Microsoft Entra Connect ​ Previously, Windows event collection was primarily associated with domain controllers. ​ With this expansion, eligible servers running a Defender for Identity sensor v3.x can now have the required auditing configured automatically, even when they aren't domain controllers. ​ To enable automatic Windows auditing in the Defender portal, follow these steps: ​ 1. Sign in to the Microsoft Defender portal. 2. Go to Settings > Identities. 3. In the General section, select Advanced features. 4. You can finally choose a custom User Folder Name during Windows 11 setup! Microsoft has updated the Device Name page to let you choose your user folder name during setup. If this step is skipped, Windows uses the default folder name and continues setup as usual. User folder names must follow standard Windows naming requirements. Microsoft is retiring the Other Features page in Exchange Online! ​ To simplify and modernize the Exchange administration experience, the Other Features page in the Exchange admin center (EAC) is being retired. ​ The Other Features page primarily provides links to administrative experiences hosted in other Microsoft admin portals and does not contain unique Exchange Online administration functionality. ​ After this change, administrators can continue to access those experiences directly through their respective admin portals. No Exchange Online workloads, settings, policies, or administrative capabilities are being removed. ​ 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 ​ Worldwide: Beginning in early September 2026 and expected to complete in February 2027. ​ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 ​ • The Other Features page will be removed from the Exchange admin center. • Administrative experiences previously linked from the page will remain available through their respective Microsoft admin portals. • No Exchange Online workloads, configurations, policies, or management capabilities will be removed. • This change is intended to reduce legacy navigation elements and provide a more streamlined Exchange administration experience. ​ 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 ​ While no technical action is required, it's recommended that administrators: ​ • Review and update any documentation that references the Other Features page. • Update any saved bookmarks that point to the Other Features page. • Review operational procedures and training materials that instruct administrators to use the Other Features page. • Ensure administrators access the associated Microsoft administrative experiences directly through their dedicated portals. ​ #Microsoft365 #ExchangeOnline
