It's been a crazy week for cyber security. I am proud that we are protecting @condaforge / Pixi users with Basilisk and pixi-audit, our new tools (links below). In the screenshot you can see the recent high-severity brotli vulnerability, and the backport that fixed it.

We helped to coordinate three security responses this week:
- Pixi 0.82.1 revokes the eMudhra certificate, please update
- PHP 8.5.12 was released by us on conda-forge
- litellm 1.107.0 quarantined and blocked on prefix

pixi 0.76 can now run standalone python scripts in isolated, on-demand environments.
dependencies live inline via PEP 723, like @astral_sh uv supports, but pixi can layer on conda and system dependencies too.

Using @bioconda usually means also configuring @condaforge and a few other channels by hand. Cumbersome, and easy to get wrong.
Our new channel-relations CEP moves that info into repodata, so the solver just knows which channels belong together.

Pixi can now natively build R packages - for your own packages or thirdparty packages from CRAN or Github. The new `pixi-build-r` build backend makes it possible. pixi-build-r will install compilers, system-level dependencies and R / r-packages from @condaforge.

The RFC period has started on the "staging cache" CEP for the v1 recipe format. This might sound like gibberish but is a powerful feature that will allow us to convert more (complicated!) packages on @condaforge to the V1 recipe format!
