The SEC has long set the gold standard for athletic competition, but now has reduced itself to targeting LSU with desperate threats of expulsion.
The NCAA started this mess with vague, unclear, and confusing rules. The result is unprecedented chaos in college sports. Now SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is elevating the situation to embarrassing levels, seeking to upend the makeup of the SEC because two players who have never set foot on a professional field dared to seek clarity.
The SEC’s blatant targeting of LSU is nothing more than an attempt to distract from the league’s blunders and the NCAA’s failure to enact clear and consistent rules. Just like they won in court last week and dominated in Death Valley on Saturday night, no matter whom LSU competes against, they will win.

Wow, in the NFL the game clock everyone sees on TV is used to govern all disputes. Not the super secret clock the Big Ten supposedly used. This keeps getting worse for the Big Ten. Credit for good reporting here.
Mike Pereira says NFL officials are supposed to use the clock the public can see on reviews if there's a discrepancy.
It's not clear if CFB is supposed to do the same.

Attorneys leading Dae'Quan Wright's case say they agree players sign pro playing contracts shouldn't be eligible. But "a pro contract signed after an athlete was forced out of college competition should not be rewritten as evidence that the athlete voluntarily chose to leave."
