Truly a must read. Fascinating. Essential.
The benefits of abundant intelligence will accrue far outside of San Fransisco. Spent the last year writing about capital, sovereignty, and the coming reordering of economic power. THE COMMANDING HEIGHTS Commanding-Heights.com

Can’t make this up. When I check the stock price on X for $INTC my app crashes. But only for $INTC. Other tickers are fine.

Interesting blood bath across markets. Looks like US Treasury Bonds are still an actual flight to safety asset after all.

Insane the amount of security hardening i've had to do in the last week alone. From cloud to router to local environment... I'm maybe a 8 / 10 from a technical POV. How does a 5 / 10 or below vibe coder survive this? Going to be a lot of pain for a lot of people.

Best thing about AI is that no one reaches out anymore with an App idea.

If I had to bet on something it would be that P = NP. Also…block time is real.
OpenAI has proven P = NP, but they refuse to release it as part of their math dump (observe the skipped numbers in their results). The tractable provably efficient algorithm for formal proof search would be devastating to their current marketing campaign as proof search provider.

“There’s a 10% chance AI will end humanity.” Should we put that at 50% now?
SITUATION DETECTED: Warhound launched from stealth today with a $200M seed at a $1.2B valuation. Ben Lamm and Palmer Luckey are cloning gene-edited bio-enhanced dogs and equipping them with custom Anduril vests, goggles, and sensors for the military and law enforcement.

Wait so AI tools are discovering security vulnerabilities only AI can detect and so we need to pay for AI tools to defend against AI tools exploiting systems that humans couldn’t but AI can right?

People are under estimating the dramatic positive impact of AI jobs in NYC. It’s going to boom beyond boom.
.@databricks, one of the world’s largest AI companies, is doubling the size of its R&D hub in Manhattan. In an extraordinary blog post they explain why: “New York isn't just catching up to the Bay Area in tech; it's carving out its own identity as a major AI metropolis.”

All of your personal data is worth about 1 fullsize pizza per company. 🍕 That’s about it.

I think we’ll end up regretting this…
if you're curious what your $30 pizza "cost you", this is what @hark_labs had on me after less than 48hrs: -934 gmail messages -415 calendar events, including 1 yr into the future -177 contacts it scraped from gmail and calendar events -33 refreshes of the "home card" I'm not against giving these personal assistant tools the keys to some of my accounts, but we all need reminders of what the "cost" of these are you can see this for yourself in the Hark app by: taping your initials icon on the top right then System Preferences then Data Management then Export your data then Request

I love when Codex says "I have a significant task ahead of me." Yes. Yes yes do. And the output is going to be super exciting.

Not a Mamdani defender - but this was the right call. And yes, ban horse racing next. A plague on horses and humans alike.
Mamdani and NYC's city council have decided to ban horse carriages in Central Park, citing the death this summer of a horse. In other news, 51 horses have died at race tracks across New York this year, and nobody is talking about banning horse racing. Point: Mamdani is an idiot.

BREAKING: @NYCCouncil will pass Romanch’s Law on October 22 to ban cruel and dangerous horse-drawn carriages! We have the support of the Council and the mayor to finally end this deadly industry. Thank you @SpeakerMenin for your extraordinary leadership and unwavering determination to bring this long-overdue ban across the finish line. To our supporters who have spent years fighting to protect horses and people: this moment belongs to you. Romanch’s death was a heartbreaking loss that shook our city and laid bare the devastating consequences of this dangerous industry. We are deeply grateful to his family for turning their grief into a powerful call for change. Stay tuned for more details as we prepare to end horse-drawn carriages in New York City and how you can join us next week!

My barber today is a music producer on the side. Didn’t know about @ElevenLabs and told him he can prompt create his own samples instead of license them! His mind was blown. Tipped him $100 and said “grab some credits a make something great.” @ElevenLabs it’s still early.

😂 next headline “AI agents brick all LG TVs and demand ransom”
SITUATION DETECTED: Anthropic believes AI models may be only months away from being capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter by using commercial devices like Android smart TVs.
