So this is the price of Labour's Brexit "reset". Brussels wants us to drop the plan to deport EU criminals jailed for more than a year. If that's signed on 20 November, it isn't a reset. It's surrendering control of our own borders. Borderless, broken Britain. "Dynamic alignment" is a lovely phrase. It means Brussels writes the rules, Britain follows them, and we get no say. We voted to be a rule maker, not a rule taker.
Exclusive from @oliver_wright
Brussels is demanding that ministers scrap plans to increase the number of European criminals who can be deported from Britain as the price of the Brexit reset
Under changes to the law brought in this year, ministers plan to deport all foreign criminals who are sentenced to more than 12 months in prison, even if that sentence is suspended
The law allows the Home Office to deport a criminal from the moment they are given a jail sentence. Previous rules meant someone had to serve at least a third of their sentence before being eligible for expulsion
But the moves have raised alarm bells in EU capitals that are concerned about taking back criminals who served no sentence in the UK and cannot be jailed in their home countries

So, let me get this straight.
The UK is doing so badly by not being in the EU that it is being asked to subsidise development of countries…. in the EU.
The EU/UK reset.

I didn’t think it was possible but as it transpires Andy Burnham is an even worse negotiator than Keir Starmer
This needless EU Reset will pile on even more costs onto our farming/food production industries, kill off our world leading agritech industry & degrade our trade relationships with the rest of the world
Our whole economy will be undermined only to provide marginal benefit to companies that import/export food to/from the EU who currently can easily already afford their trade compliance costs & the deal doesn’t even eliminate paperwork
To make matters even worse we will be paying the EU billions each year for the privilege of hamstringing our own economy
Yet another item on the long list of Labour policies to be torn up on day 1 of the next government
Labour have given away the farm with their awful agrifood deal with the EU.
No say in the laws, a rubber stamp parliament, and a massive bill. If anything is 'hard Brexit', it's that.

This explains the EU Reset: it is intended to save the EU, not increase UK exports.

I suspect that the 50 investors who lost £5million in a betting syndicate run by Rory Campbell ( son of Socialist gobshite Alastair Campbell) will be none to pleased to learn has has started a new venture.
After all Campbell,38, is still on bail having been arrested back in September last year on suspicion of fraud by false representation relating to the syndicate.
Campbell owns 60% of the new business.
He gives his address as near Taunton, Somerset. There are two other directors owning 20% each.
One is Aaron Edgeworth who is said to have broken the bad news to the investors that their money ( some had put in between £25,000 to £500,000) was unlikely to paid.
Campbell’s people ( surprised he could afford comms) described these accounts as “ incomplete and inaccurate”.
Not positive what the business will do but it’s called 6th Man Data Intelligence which may give a clue.
Campbell hasn’t said a word since the scandal broke.
Perhaps the next time his father is on a podcast or Question Time he might lift the lid on the murky goings on.
And explain what his boy is doing now living in the rural hamlet of Wrantsge - 7 miles from Taunton- whereas his previous hangout was East London.
All very odd.
BREAKING: Fury over Labour plan to pay fees for EU students in Britain’s elite universities that will cost £450m a year - Andy Burnham mocked over massive subsidies for the private education of foreigners, while taxing and closing Britain’s famous independent schools (via @Telegraph) telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

This is why the fake-conservatives sabotaged Brexit by refusing to get rid of hugely costly EU red tape. They kept the regulations so the UK could easily be put back under Brussels' control, by stealth if necessary.
Britain has agreed to pay into European Union development schemes as the price for rejoining the bloc’s electricity market, according to a draft text seen by The Telegraph.
Taxpayer money will be funnelled into projects to build roads, airports and green energy facilities across the bloc’s poorer member states under the plan.
In exchange, British energy companies will be allowed to trade freely in the EU’s single market for electricity.

Under a new EU deal to be agreed by Andy Burnham money will be funnelled into projects to build roads, airports and green energy facilities across the EU’s poorer member states. So once again we will be a rule taker not a rule marker and stick two fingers up at our own poorer areas. It’s maddening.

The #EUReset wants the UK to have certificate-free borders with the EU, but the EU is full of animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease in cattle, African Swine Fever in pigs and wild boar, Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in sheep and goats, and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in cattle.
Why would any farmer or meat and dairy consumer want a certificate-free border with the EU?

Andy Burnham seems ready to blow an awful lot of political capital on a UK-EU 'reset' that, even on his figures, would eventually add just 0.4% to GDP.
And I bet even that 0.4% ignores most of the economic and political costs, including the loss of sovereignty… 🤔

Even small local bakeries that never trade with the EU will have to follow EU rules on ingredients, packaging, and nutritional information. Industry compliance costs are estimated at £2 to £3 billion. They will also face additional compliance costs every time the EU changes its rules.
UK taxpayers will also have to pay the EU for its policy work to create and enforce these rules on UK firms. This could be up to £3 billion a year, every year.

The EU Reset is bad for British taxpayers, British youths, and British businesses. This report by economist Catherine McBride OBE, published by the Great British Business Council, sets out what the UK gives up under the EU Reset and what it will cost.

Yesterday @EmilyThornberry revealed a Pakistani man who came to Islington to work as carer is "relieved" his family will all be allowed to stay forever. The family has now been joined by "a little boy with a rare genetic condition." She asked @ShabanaMahmood if the lad can have UK taxpayer funded benefits. Of course we all want the best for him but this begs so many questions. Is he their son? Did they just abandon him till now? How many other low paid carers are bringing relatives who are partly or wholly dependent on the state? It's completely unaffordable!

Since I posted this it’s been reported that PM Burnham will announce £40m today for infrastructure and green energy projects in the Caribbean. So that didn’t take long. And if Burnham/Miliband think this sort of gesture will appease the reparations grifters I have several bridges to sell them. They are not beating up on the UK to join the net zero bandwagon!!
