It is the season of victories!
JMI has shown us the way...
What a fight! What a great and long awaited victory!
Comrade Mantasha, AISA Jamia Office Bearer, congratulates the students of Jamia Millia Islamia on this momentous victory after 20 years!
Standing firm for 18 days in the face of police repression and the university administration’s attempts to suppress their democratic struggle, the students have secured a commitment to restore the Jamia Students’ Union, marking a major victory for campus democracy and the right to democratic representation.

Jamia Students Win a Major Victory!
Congratulations to the steadfast students of Jamia Millia Islamia on their victory in securing the commitment to restore the Jamia Students’ Union!
For 18 gruelling days, students sustained their hunger strike and indefinite sit-in, refusing to back down despite police repression and the university administration’s attempts to suppress their democratic struggle.
Their victory after 20 years without a students’ union is a powerful assertion of student power and the right to democratic representation on campus.

It was a genuine pleasure to meet my comrades at the CPI(ML) Liberation Parliamentary Office today.
We reaffirmed a simple conviction: None of us is safe until all of us are safe. We share common struggles, collective goals, and an unwavering commitment to justice, freedom, equality, and human dignity.
Long live international solidarity! ✊🇵🇸🇮🇳

Two elections, two inspiring outcomes!
In Brazil, Lula has won a fourth term defeating Bolsonaro. In Serbia, the student movement has now ended the increasingly authoritarian reign of Aleksandar Vucic.
Stand with Jamia Students! Defend Campus Democracy!
CPI(ML) Liberation strongly condemns the Jamia Millia Islamia administration and police repression against students fighting for campus democracy and their rights, including the demand for students’ union elections.
Students have been on hunger strike to press for their demands. But instead of addressing their grievances, the administration has unleashed repression. Campus gates have been blockaded, the university shut down, and police and paramilitary forces deployed against students. Their sit-in site has been forcibly cleared, and several students have been assaulted and detained by the police.
The pattern is clear: the Modi-Shah regime fears a generation that refuses to be silenced. Every time young people raise their voices against injustice and demand their democratic rights, police and paramilitary forces are unleashed in an attempt to crush their protests.
The voices of students cannot be silenced through force and intimidation.
Condemn FIR Against AICCTU Leaders and Student Activists for Standing with ASHA Workers in Uttar Pradesh
CPI(ML) Liberation strongly condemns the Yogi government’s vindictive move to file an FIR against six leaders and activists following the historic mobilisation of thousands of ASHA workers in Lucknow on October 23, organised under the statewide call of the Uttar Pradesh ASHA Workers Union, affiliated to AICCTU.
The FIR names Comrade Vijay Vidrohi, Uttar Pradesh President of AICCTU; Comrade Devanand, State Joint Secretary of AICCTU; Comrade Kamla Gautam; Dr Rajesh Singh; Manish Kumar, Uttar Pradesh President of the All India Students’ Association (AISA); and Bhanu Kumar, Uttar Pradesh Vice-President of AISA.
The Yogi government’s action exposes its fear of the growing struggle of ASHA workers for dignity, a just honorarium and permanent employment. Instead of addressing their legitimate demands and ending the exploitation of their labour, the government is resorting to police cases and intimidation against those standing in solidarity with their struggle.
CPI(ML) Liberation demands the immediate withdrawal of the FIR against all six leaders and activists. No amount of repression can silence the struggle of ASHA workers for their rights and dignity. The party stands firmly with the ASHA workers and all those facing persecution for supporting their movement.
Red Salute to Comrade Swaroop Singh Danu!
Comrade Swaroop Singh Danu, a senior CPI(ML) Liberation leader and a veteran of the Bindukhatta land struggle in Uttarakhand, passed away at his residence in Bindukhatta late in the evening on October 20.
Comrade Danu was among the early comrades who took part in the Bindukhatta land struggle. Following the struggle, he became a full-time CPI(ML) Liberation worker and was sent to Almora district, where he devoted more than three years to people’s struggles and building the Party organisation. After returning to Bindukhatta, he remained actively involved in every major people’s movement in the area. As a member of the CPI(ML) Liberation Nainital District Committee, he participated in struggles concerning land rights, ration cards, employment, the demand for revenue village status, the dairy movement, the Century factory movement and the municipal movement, among others.
Comrade Swaroop Singh Danu devoted his life to the struggles of working people and the building of the Party. His commitment to grassroots organising and his close bonds with the people of Bindukhatta will remain an enduring part of the region’s history of struggle.

JUSTICE FOR ANKITA BHANDARI!
SACK DUSHYANT KUMAR GAUTAM AS SIKKIM GOVERNOR!
A protest was held in Delhi today demanding justice for Ankita Bhandari, with a large number of people from Uttarakhand joining the demonstration.
CPI(ML) Liberation Uttarakhand State Secretary Comrade Indresh, along with activists of AIPWA, also joined the protest.
Under the BJP regime, those accused of sexual violence continue to receive political protection. The appointment of Dushyant Kumar Gautam as Sikkim Governor, despite demands for accountability over his alleged role as the “VIP” in the Ankita Bhandari case, has further intensified the demand for justice.
BJP Govt’s Contempt and Apathy for People’s Lives: Lives Lost in Chore Bagan Stampede, But BJP Busy Running Bulldozers Over Bookstalls.
We express our solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives and with all those injured in the horrific stampede at the Chorebagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata.
This tragic loss of lives demands accountability. We call for a thorough investigation to fix responsibility, full medical treatment and rehabilitation for all those injured, and adequate compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured.
The horrific tragedy at Chore Bagan, with its devastating loss of lives, is unprecedented in recent memory. It exposes the misplaced priorities of the BJP government in West Bengal.
While public safety and the protection of lives demand urgent attention, the state government is deploying bulldozers and mobilising its communal Sangh brigade, state police and the entire state machinery to demolish progressive bookstalls across the state, and harass people in the name of religion.

📍 8B Bus Stand, Jadavpur, Kolkata | October 17, 2026
Hundreds of Left activists and democratic voices hit the streets to resist the BJP-RSS regime’s bulldozer attack on the progressive bookstall.
People’s history, resistance and the struggle for equality cannot be crushed by bulldozers!
BJP-RSS BULLDOZERS ON BOOKS!
Today, hundreds of Left activists and democratic voices took to the streets at 8B Bus Stand in Jadavpur, Kolkata, to resist the BJP-RSS regime’s bulldozer attack on the progressive bookstall run by Communist parties.
The BJP-RSS regime fears books because it fears ideas. It fears the history of people’s struggles, the ideas of equality and justice, and the spirit of resistance that no bulldozer can crush.
People’s history, resistance and the struggle for equality cannot be crushed by bulldozers!
Oct 17 | A joint protest was held today outside the Delhi Police Headquarters by AIPWA and various other women's organisations.
Down with the Delhi Police-BJP Government Nexus!
Restore Jamia Students’ Union! Stop the Repression of Students!
At around 5:30 AM today, Jamia administration acting at the direction of the Chief Proctor, forcibly removed students on hunger strike demanding the restoration of the students' union and threw them out of the campus. The campus lights were switched off, they were beaten, manhandled and harassed, dragged out, and then handed over to the Delhi Police. All the detained students have since been released.
We strongly condemn this brutal assault on students exercising their democratic right to protest. The administration must immediately stop its repression of students and restore the Students’ Union.
HQ, CPIML LIBERATION
