I seem to have given claude a new llmism of "workhorse"
Maybe invite someone who does branding work to explain why this is a bad name for longevity
My daughter wants to start a podcast called "Explain it to an 8-year-old." If you do REALLY complicated, interesting work and want to appear on a podcast to see if you can actually explain it to an 8-year-old, please DM me.

Taking my Anthropic bug person sightseeing around İstanbul, feeding him kebabs he can barely comprehend, drinking rakı, dancing and singing until late at night, seeing a glimpse of humanity in him, taking him to a back alley, shanking him with a tear in my eye, whispering,
Petition to take all Anthropic employees on a field trip to a third world country to shake them out of their SF psychosis

A good PM sits you in the high chair, puts on your apron, gives you the spoon, and accepts that things might get messy. A bad PM is watching TV, so you microwave Hot Pockets and make do.
I used to think PM was a bullshit job. And yet here we are hiring PMs as we grow quickly. It’s easy to understand once you’re at the top of an org. A company is a machine with lots of moving parts. In order for the whole system to function, all the parts need to work together as seamlessly as possible. Someone who is great at the work (media buyer, engineer, etc) is likely not great at being organized and keeping work organized. And even if they are, it is usually most cost effective to have someone who is an organizational savant take that on so the person doing the work can spend more time in their zone of greatness. I think the only people who find PMs annoying are the people who need PMs the most. “Adult babysitters are stupid fake jobs” says the adult baby who needs a sitter to make sure they eat their Cheerios.

I don't know what they are doing to these models back there but AI is so bad at delivering incomplete work. Like leave it empty buddy, it's phase 2, it's deferred, we will get to it, we don't need it, you're trying to solve a problem 5 steps down the line. Fuck.

Using grok after a week with claude is like getting paired with the autist in the group project instead of the smarmy midwit

25 years and you had no one who wanted to work with you again?
This one is heartbreaking. He spent 25 YEARS at Adobe. Senior Software Quality Engineer. More than 15 years of quality engineering experience. Laid off in August 2025. Then he spent more than a year looking for another job in tech. Applications filtered out. Recruiters ghosted him. Interviews that never happened. Eventually, he gave up. His next career? Driving a school bus. There is absolutely nothing wrong with driving a school bus. It’s important, honest work. But something is deeply broken when an American with 25 years at one of the world’s premier software companies can’t find another job in tech while we’re simultaneously told America has such a shortage of tech talent that employers need hundreds of thousands of foreign-worker positions. This is what gets lost in the H-1B debate. These aren’t statistics. They’re people. Before we search the world for another tech worker, shouldn’t Americans like him at least get a fair shot?

Its not that I don't get Telemachus is a young guy trying to act out masculinity with no role model, it's just that Tom Holland captures none of the grief, fear, frustration and anger a young man like this would be in this situation. Instead he has the secure anger of a middle
isnt his role supposed to be a guy that tries to be intimidating but isnt..?

I think it's a genuine mental class indicator whether you think this performance is acceptable or not
He’s playing a weak prince who knows he’s weak who is trying to convince the suitors he’s pretending to be strong to protect a beggar he doesn’t want anyone to know is his father and I think he nails it

Guy who moves to Bali for ai API pricing arbitrage and hates the scene there
the major ai companies should commit to a real time priced API product. ai demand varies wildly over a day/night curve and the industry is broadly extremely capacity crunched. meanwhile agents make dealing with variable pricing, batching, and projecting total costs very easy

You ever see a post and get annoyed what seems very obvious is being treated like a profound insight? Either you are viewing wrong posts or you are posting wrong things

We will see unprecedented types of school shootings when some these genetically selected babies start failing
Yes those Silicon Valley bros will end up imposing “smart baby” selection. Sounds awful/immoral, until enough ambitious parents participate, and drag everyone into the ultimate arms race. Same escalation mechanism as elite schools, tutors, admissions consultants etc, except moved 9 months earlier. Most parents probably don't particularly want the optimisation arms race. But once enough ambitious parents participate, opting out starts feeling less like moral restraint and more like voluntarily disadvantaging your kid. The usual status mechanics kick in: Rich weirdos test something → successful/high-status people normalise it → upper-middle class copies it → opting out becomes the weird choice. Health will probably be how the whole thing becomes socially acceptable too. Nobody wants to say “we paid to make our baby smarter”. But screening embryos for lower Alzheimer’s, heart disease or diabetes risk sounds pretty reasonable. Then once you have 10 embryos ranked on a screen, I’m not sure humans will be very good at deliberately ignoring the height / intelligence / longevity columns next to it. And tbh rich parents already spend fortunes buying better probabilities for their children after birth (postcode, private school, tutors, sports coaching, internships, connections etc.) and everyone finds that normal. But somehow buying better odds before birth suddenly feels dystopian. The optimiser class was probably always going to end up here anyway, having spent the last 30 years moving the optimisation of childhood earlier and earlier: university consultants → tutors → elite nursery → prenatal testing → egg freezing/IVF. Embryo selection is just the point where competitive parenting finally reaches before the child exists.

Fable is such a malicious retard when you are designing a system. It will give you "3 options" and outline the whole details of one while dismissing other two right in the proposal. If you're not careful you will be thinking hey let's go with option A, it seems like the best fit

Fits the persona, i.e a retarded punching bag for Xdotcom and occasional rapist
I'm sorry but someone has to say it, we cannot go on like this grok is a terrible name Please retire it Thank for your attention to this matter

If your reason for wanting to visit north korea is "I want to see how people live under oppression " you should be quartered
This reminds me - I matched with someone on Hinge recently who stated that it was her life goal to visit “every country in the world (minus Israel)”. When I asked “even North Korea?”, her response was to claim ignorance and question whether they were even truly oppressed.

>sell ai text generator >people want to detect your slop >mark your text >have the most accurate slop detector overnight Excellent play, now only thing left to do is colluding with open ai for a general tool
🚨 JUST IN: Claude models will now have invisible watermarks embedded in ALL text, and ALL metadata attached to files…
