There are now 19 solar investigation videos posted for members of Crrow777 Radio. The Sun is shot with a 130mm Lunt solar telescope in the hydrogen alpha wavelength. This wavelength is at exactly 656.28 nanometers, which is a very specific portion of the visible spectrum. Changing the wavelength drastically changes the kind of view.
When using the word "animation," that doesn't mean it's a fake cartoon. What it means is that a sequence of real images captured through the telescope is put together in chronological order to show movement and changes over time, much like a time-lapse video. Each frame comes from an actual observation of the Sun. When these frames are played in succession, we can observe activity that would otherwise be difficult to recognize in a single still image.
The images may also be processed to enhance contrast, sharpen details, or add color so that solar features are easier to see. This does not mean the activity is computer-generated. The animation is simply a way of presenting actual telescope observations in motion rather than as individual photographs.
