DYSTOPIA is live 🌧 A rain-soaked noir cyber-city you can drive, fly and explore, running right in your browser on WebGPU. No install, no download. ▶ dystopia-noir.netlify.app ━━ WHAT YOU DO ━━ You patrol in SABLE, a flying spinner with a full first or 3rd person cockpit. Drive it, fly it, park it at the curb. Then launch KITE, your drone, for the close-ups and exploration. The drone scanner identifies nearly everything: sky cars (plate, pilot, passengers), robots (operator, task, firmware), buildings (floors, tenants), shops, traffic signals, trains, trees. ━━ THE CITY ━━ Fully procedural and streamed in around you as you fly, 4 km across. Eight districts, each with its own street life: Downtown · The Spires · Kabuki Neon Market · The Stacks · the Interchange · Southern Freight · Canal Ward · Black Harbour • Fly KITE up to a lit window and the painted interior becomes a live 3D room, with floor plans that actually fit the building • Fly straight in through the door of Kowalski's bar or The Carlyle hotel lobby: real interiors inside real buildings, no loading screens • Sky traffic flies in lanes. Buses pull into SKY-STOP platforms, taxis drop at lit entrances, vans at loading hatches, MPD cruisers pull cars over, and none of it blocks the lane behind • On the ground, androids and a robotic road fleet obey signals and queue at junctions: refuse trucks lift kerbside bins, heavy crawlers move with escort drones • Freight trains with working level crossings, and a port with working cranes ━━ THE LOOK ━━ Think 5th Element meets Sin City. Low-key black night, form defined by light, rain on everything. A cinematic grade plus a graphic-novel noir mode (paper whites, rare color). Wet streets, street-lamp haze, close-range shadows, and nothing pops: every LOD change is a dithered crossfade. ━━ UNDER THE HOOD ━━ • three.js r186 · WebGPURenderer · TSL node shaders • Rapier physics · Vite · TypeScript • Deterministic generation: every city block is a pure function of (i, j, seed), built in Web Workers and streamed in tiers (massing → detail → physics → wet) • ~630 render pipelines compiled up front: 0 shader compiles after boot, so no in-game hitching ━━ STILL a WIP ━━ The plan is to continue pushing the details and finish explorable interiors (there are a few already) of all buildings and then finalize the game side. Best on desktop Chrome or Edge with a dedicated GPU (WebGPU required). Everything preloads up front so nothing hitches in game, so give it a minute to boot. #threejs #WebGPU #gamedev #indiedev #cyberpunk #noir #procedural #creativecoding #Claude (#Opus 5.5) @guidorosso @RyanSael 👀

So.. 1024 paths per pixel, up to 8 bounces, no denoiser, no rt cores used. 60 fps at 1080p on an RTX 3080. Stumbled upon this 2003 path-tracing paper while researching the lens flares for Higx Optics. It is for most intends and purposes useless for what i needed but just had to try it in action. One of those fun rabbit holes Claude let you explore.

Birds are living dinosaurs, and the fossil evidence for it is taught in middle and high school biology (NGSS, GCSE). I built a 3D book on it with Opus 5.5: on each plate you see the fossil animate to life, predict and then try it yourself. All six lessons ↓

~$2k in @fal, @ElevenLabs, @tripoai credits and one month of Claude 20x. This is what I made. • build your mech piece by piece • dual wield by default • fight on a spinning space station • grapple off and duel in open space Pre-alpha out now. Multiplayer soon. Inspired by @TimSweeneyEpic's recent perspective on the space

This is the greatest film we've ever made. It cost $28,775 to make. To date, Nexus episodes have 62,479,089 views. This one is about a guy with zero brain cells who rides a dinosaur that shoots exploding pimples. Prompts & Process below: 👇🧵

Saw a fountain yesterday and decided to recreate its water physics in my browser using @threejs and @WebGPU. Next challenge: bring that water fountain into the 90s dino racing battle royale mall I'm building at dinomall.lol 🦖 Come play!

Infinite open world with volumetric water simulation update! i changed the digging to voxel(ish) based so you can dig tunnels. Challenging part was making the water pressure equalize on the other side and drain - Solved! #Unity #GameDev #WaterSim

this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

it’s fascinating watching one category of musicians freak out about AI, meanwhile there are new forms of artistry popping up like mushrooms this track was released 2 weeks ago. it goes undeniably hard the character “Young Soul” is one of these new AI influencers: a very unusual looking man who reveals unexpected talent on camera maybe the first time I am hearing an AI song that actually has good prosody and flow. perfect earworm half the audience knows its AI, the other half has no clue stop thinking bro just enjoy the bop

I don't think people realize just how crazy this is getting. We've reached a point where one person with AI ..can build things that used to require an entire team, months of work, and hundreds of thousands of dollars. And it's only getting faster. Here's why I think Three.js will win: Game engines have been around for decades. Game development and simulations have relied on them for their tooling. Three.js keeps improving, catching up with the visual quality of game engines. Except everything runs directly in your browser, desktop or mobile, nothing to install. And now AI has flattened the learning curve. People don't need years of technical knowledge to build something impressive. Those who already have game dev or creative web experience can move even faster. What used to take months or years can now take days, sometimes just hours. I once worked on a large-scale interactive project that involved an entire team and nearly a year of development (used Unity back then), yet the final result had less visual richness and interactivity than what Threejs + AI can achieve today. And that still blows my mind. meanwhile, people are still debating whether AI produces slop, or whether they should reject it. But AI is already one of the best tools to get complex things done, at a fraction of the time and cost. of course, there will always be a market for specialized engines and tooling. But for most interactive experiences, the time and cost to build have dropped dramatically. With browser-native distribution, open-source tooling, and no engine licensing fees, Three.js adoption is already exploding. And I think we're barely scratching the surface. What's coming next is going to be massive. ... just my $0.02. I rarely ramble this much, so if you actually read all of this, thank you 😂 Here's an example of what one person can build in just a few days. And check out sael.net to see everything I've built so far in just a single month
If Three.js were a stock, I'd go ALL IN. Super bullish
