Representatives from @NITIAayog, @TribalAffairsIn, @MSJEGOI, @UIDAI, and partners from across the country joined @BMGFIndia, and UNICEF India at the Systems Optimizing Choices and Habits (SOCH2026) National Conclave on institutionalizing behavioural insights in India. From immunization and nutrition to child protection and digital identity, the conclave brought together practitioners and policymakers to understand what it takes to integrate behavioural insights into programmes in India. The conclave also saw the announcement of India's Behavioural Insights Network, a step toward deeper collaboration across states and sectors -- because better systems start with understanding real behaviours, choices and habits #ForEveryChild. @aiims_newdelhi @nipunmalhotra @NipmanF @csbcashoka @B_I_Team

Their collaboration and energy made the mixer a powerful reminder that learning doesn’t end in the classroom—it begins in community. In his remarks, Professor Pavan Mamidi highlighted that lasting transformation starts with shared understanding—and that behavioural science offers the tools to foster both personal growth and systemic impact. Professor Shagata Mukherjee echoed this, emphasising the importance of community in applying behavioural change at scale. (2/3) @csbcashoka

An imp lesson is that programs that require very intensive implementation, if not backed with a lot of resources, are likely to fail at scale; because there's so much that still needs to be done in terms of just augmenting govt and state capacity. - @UrvashiWattal #brewesa

“Many scale-ups fail because an intervention suited to one location may not work in another. Customizing for each context requires significant time and talent. AI can bridge this gap, making behavioral science more accessible and scalable.” - @nirat #brewesa2024
