Cool use of self-referentiality in science. Finding: Inconsistent terminology within the field of translational psychology hinders the findability of papers… and can lead to the reinvention of the wheel @asist_org @sig_met #scienceofscience
had a great time presenting my side-quest on #fragmentation in emerging fields of research at the @sig_met METSTI 23 in London. the density of high quality research in the room, the engaging presentations and the great @ZPID team led by @AndreBittermann - simply fantastic! 👻 – at London, England

Thrilled by the great wine, mesmerizing campus fireflies, and inspiring conversations at #ISSI2023 @IUBloomington. Grateful for presenting our research on "Leveraging machine learning for bibliometric analysis of emerging fields" and meeting such an eclectic blend of researchers.

What a conference - two weeks later and I'm still processing it! Thankful for the chance to share @AndreBittermann's and my research, jump over fences with @jamesheathers and @dsquintana, have the best vegan shawarma, and experience @hertzpodcast live.

Language models have become privately controlled research infrastructure. This week, OpenAI deprecated the Codex model that ~100 papers have used—with 3 days’ notice. It has said that newer models will only be stable for 3 months. Goodbye (1/2)
reproducibility!
It'll be interesting to see how developers are going to use these models in production if things are going to break every couple of months.

In our recent systematic review of 15 tools, we found that #MachineLearning yields a high potential to reduce screening time, especially for reviews with many candidate papers.
