Yeosang asked San for diet advice, and San replied: "You already look amazing, but maybe try getting a little leaner. I think it'll look really good on camera" The Korean doesn't explicitly mention body fat, so I wouldn't state that as a fact. At the same time, translating it simply as "lose weight" removes the performance and camera context that immediately follows. The grammar iomortant too. In 한번 좀 더 빼봐라, 한번 adds the nuance of "give it a try", 좀 softens the suggestion, and -봐라 comes from -아/어 보다, meaning "try doing it and see". All together, it feels much closer to: "Maybe try losing a little more and see" rather than "You need to lose weight" It's also important to remember that this wasn't an unprovoked comment about Yeosang's body. Yeosang was already talking with San about dieting and how he'd look on camera. Before giving any suggestion, San first said: 너 지금도 충분히 너무 멋있는데 (You already look amazing as you are). Only then did he add that leaning out a little more might come across especially well on camera. That doesn't mean the literal idea of "losing a little more" isn't there, it absolutely is. But the full conversation was supportive, optional, and specific to how a fellow performer would appear on screen. If you've watched sn's lives over time, you'll probably notice he's actually very consistent with his advice: "Eat what you enjoy, just work out harder". He's never encouraged starving yourself or extreme restriction. That's very different from promoting unhealthy dieting. 4. Sn is actually leaner this era rather than bulking. Physiques like Sn's and ys's aren't built through crash dieting, especially considering atz's choreography and performance schedule. It's simply not sustainable to under-eat while performing at that intensity.
