It was an honour to meet with the ALS Society of Canada to raise awareness about this devastating disease.
It was an emotional evening where I learned so much from the inspiring stories of families and individuals who face ALS each day.
Canadians don’t feel safe because of the rampant crime, it’s clear to everyone except for the members of this tired government that something must be done to keep our streets safe!
I just want Canadians the ability to receive prescribed psilocybin..but world peace would also be sweet. @joerogan has been way infront of the public on the benefits of psilocybin . Follow along as we change the regulations with thomasbill.ca
I had a good meeting with Dr. Sylvain Charbonneau, President of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) which invests in research infrastructure at Canadian universities, colleges, research hospitals and non-profit research institutions.
Congratulations to my fellow parliamentarian Gord Johns for receiving the Champions of Mental Health Award and to all other recipients.
I encourage everyone concerned about mental health to sign this petition to increase medical access to psilocybin treatments thomasbill.ca/petition
@GordJohns & @MikeLakeMP
I met with representatives of the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health and we discussed the important work of this organization and the need for governments to do more to help people.
We also discussed my private member’s bill which is designed to improve patient access to psilocybin medicine, please sign the petition thomasbill.ca/petition
Started reading the memoir of six time Olympic medallist Clara Hughes. It’s “a story of healing and transformation in midlife” I am particularly struck by her courage where“she turned to a different kind of medicine. Enter the world of psychedelic-assisted therapy.”
The world needs more brave advocates like her.

I met with AfterGlo Wellness, which exists to champion clinical research, public education, and evidence-informed approaches to veteran wellness.
They told us of some of the roadblocks that the federal government has put in the way of their efforts.

Her story is one of so many that demonstrate the medical potential of psilocybin treatments and how the government’s decisions make life harder for patients and demonstrates why we need more research into psilocybin.
Please sign this petition to join the campaign to help patients

I met with Sandy Taylor, the CEO and President of CANDU Energy Inc. and members of his team.
CANDU nuclear reactors provide safe and reliable power to millions of Canadians every day.
I recently met with Jessica van der Hoek who is an Advanced Care Paramedic and has served on the panel of experts to create the provincial regulations in Alberta.
She told me of how psychedelic medicine has helped her and others and its potential to help more.

A founder of our party, Dep Premier, senior minister, fierce MLA. He was a mentor and a counsellor to me; as Proverbs describes -‘a friend that sticketh closer than a brother’. Whatever we might have accomplished in those years -needed his steady hand and his big servant’s heart.
On behalf of a grateful party, government and province, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the family and many, many friends of former MLA, opposition leader, minister and Deputy Premier Ken Krawetz, one of the founding members of the Saskatchewan Party.
This one hurts a lot. In any room Ken was in, whether as a teacher, school board trustee, opposition or government caucus member, cabinet minister or at the kitchen table talking to a constituent, Ken was always the guy who brought the logic, integrity, compassion and common sense to arrive at the right decision.
Ken loved his community. He loved his province. He loved serving his province. He loved his friends and he loved his family more than anything. He even loved the Toronto Maple Leafs. His big heart struggled at times, but it was only because he shared pieces of it with so many.
Flags at the Legislature will be lowered to half-mast in honour of Ken Krawetz.
Thank you @ScottAAitchison for your public service.
I have made the difficult decision to resign my seat following the conclusion of the fall parliamentary session. After 30 years of public life, it is time for a new chapter where I will explore new opportunities.
From being elected to Huntsville Town Council and Muskoka District Council at the age of 21, to serving as Mayor of Huntsville and, for the past seven years, as your Member of Parliament, it has been the honour of my lifetime to serve you and represent our community.
Whether it was in the council chambers, or the halls of Ottawa, I worked to build consensus, cut through the bureaucracy, and make life better for the people who placed their trust in me. I carried myself with the same values of the town that raised me: respect, decency, and looking out for your neighbour.
My time as Shadow Housing Minister has allowed me to contribute to a fundamental shift in the national debate on housing. All levels of government have recognized the burden over regulation and excessive taxes and fees place on housing affordability. Our Conservative team can be proud of the work we have done on this file and I know the team will continue this work after my departure.
To the people of Parry Sound–Muskoka who placed their trust in me, and those who I disagreed with but promised passionate representation to, I hope I have made you proud.
I want to thank my incredible staff who have served me and the people of Parry Sound–Muskoka with distinction. None of this would have been possible without you.
To my caucus colleagues and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, it has been a privilege to serve alongside you. I have been fortunate to meet Canadians from coast-to-coast who are counting on us to champion efforts to make life more affordable for all Canadians. I know you will continue this mission.
Sincerely,
Scott Aitchison, M.P.
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, let us reflect on past mistakes and collectively strive towards a better future.
I toured Optimi's medical psilocybin manufacturing facility. I learned about the process of turning psilocybin mushrooms into pills for consumption during psilocybin assisted therapy.
