I’m convinced some folks are just completely outsourcing their brain to AI. It’ll tie you in knots without using human creativity to not let it solve problems with brute computational force.

BREAKING: The US "almost started a war" against China, nearly launching an operation against a Chinese ship in the Middle East this spring, in the midst of the Iran war, after an AI-generated intelligence report falsely identified the vessel as carrying nuclear weapons components, with armed US personnel preparing to board and military aircraft already in the air before officials found the report had been produced with a chatbot, per CNN.
A special operations command analyst had used a chatbot to fuse open-source material with classified signals intelligence, then used AI again to package the result into a standard intelligence report and circulated it across the US military.
I get that he’s the PA guy, but not pointing out the revenue disparity is intellectually dishonest
The A’s certainly belong on this list but aren’t. Kotsay’s days as manager appear to be all but numbered with a new POBO/GM on the horizon.
MLB’s managerial merry-go-round is about to spin. These 6 jobs could be most volatile. Analysis, unlocked and free to read. nytimes.com/athletic/7601628…
At this point, given the leaks of names being interviewed for the A’s GM job, it’s going to be a real disappointment if they just promote someone from within.

The Athletics are casting a wide net in their search for their next general manager. According to multiple sources, they’ve had conversations with Boston Red Sox SVP/AGMs Mike Groopman and Taylor Smith about the role.
5.6 Sol Extra High with Computer Use and Full Disk on has crossed the line from curiosity to genuinely useful. Holy crap.
In case some people out there forgot, federal investigations into random things like Newsom’s travel, university groups, and a homeless services founder’s misuse of funds are less about the problems themselves and more a long-game effort to discredit CA politicians by the GOP.
It’s probably happening soon, but I’m going to guess that Billy Owens is promoted to GM and Click comes in as POBO for the A’s.

Being in your 40s just means you have more text messages for one-time passcodes than you do from friends.
What’s the difference between Cortes pitching last night vs. back in the day some AAAA kid who well knows he’s being sent down or DFAed after being a sacrificial lamb for the rest of the bullpen?
Carlos Cortez who appears to be a pretty good hitter unfortunately had to pitch again yesterday for the AAAA Oakland A’s.
Carlos who is an outfielder has now pitched in 9 games this season.
I have been told countless times by the experts on social media that pitching in the @MLB is better than it’s ever been and that is why the entire league can’t hit (.250) but how is that possible when a position player pitches in a MLB game almost every night?
My question is…how can pitching be better than ever when position players are lobbing dog shit up to the plate every night?
Am I supposed to pretend I don’t see what’s really happening and just trust the data that guys like @mike_petriello are posting every day?
Are my eyes deceiving me?
I hope they are because what I think I’m seeing is pathetic!
