I know a lot of people are scared by how quickly AI is evolving and how many companies are laying people off and handing over parts of their work to AI
I went through a pretty rough period because of this about two years ago
It affected me so much that I actually developed anxiety
It was terrifying to think that I had dedicated my entire life to art and drawing, only for it to potentially become something nobody needed anymore
I thought I might lose my sense of purpose in life
But then my boss had several long, deep conversations with me and helped me see things differently
He explained that AI only knows what it has been trained on. It can't truly come up with something new on its own, but rather relies on the images, drawings, and artwork it's been fed
A concept artist's job (which is what I do) is to come up with concepts, experiment, sketch, explore ideas, and bring something new to the table
And honestly, replacing an artist in this particular field is pretty difficult, at least for now
In fact, our company recently expanded the team and hired three more artists!
And if AI ever does replace me, I'll still keep making art and find something else to do in a field where AI won't be able to replace humans anytime soon
Maybe I'll get into cooking or open my own little coffee shop, hehe ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ ♡
The past few weeks at work were all sprints, and tomorrow one of the games I've been drawing for FINALLY comes out (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
And tomorrow is also the first day of my vacation, the one I've been waiting for for so long!!!
I'm planning to spend my mornings walking around Seoul, and after that I'll go on a very, very focused sprint to finish everything I've been making for Momo ♡

I shared these customs on my personal page earlier this month, but I've been super busy with work and moving into my new apartment

• Artists are not supposed to move or spend any of the money they made from minting out their NFT collection
• Artists are not supposed to release any new artwork and have to stick to their first collection for the rest of their lives
• Artists are not supposed to make any money from their art, even earning royalties is considered greedy
And then you wonder why 9/10 upcoming mints are AI slop
Maybe it's because real artists don't want to deal with all the negativity from some toxic individuals in web3
In the real world, artists can do whatever they want with their money.
They can create and sell new artwork because that's literally what they do for a living.
It's their bread and butter

Some of you might feel like things have been a little quiet lately, but that’s actually not the case ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎
I’ve been working quite a lot behind the scenes, but decided to take a little break from Twitter and Discord because I kinda got ADHD symptoms and it’s been affecting my productivity quite a bit (╥﹏╥)
Here’s what I’ve been up to:
• Momo Pull 2.0
We’re completely reworking the mechanics, making new 3D assets for the interface, and honestly, it’s starting to feel like an entirely new product.
We also spent quite a lot of time looking for the right partner, going through 7 different options before settling on one
• Custom Momo Honoraries
I’ve built up quite a queue of people waiting for theirs, and that’s entirely my fault lol.
Some are a little difficult to figure out because I haven’t received any refs or ideas to work with, while others are already finished and just need a few final touches
I really want to get through this queue properly instead of rushing things just to get them done ♡
• Chibi Momo GIFs
I also want to experiment with chibi Momo and try getting into animation myself!
I’m still figuring out whether I want to learn animation from scratch or create the assets myself and experiment with AI animation models, but I already have the concepts for the first 20 GIFs ready hehe
• TikTok & Instagram
Momo Pull needs to attract people from outside our current audience, and we basically have two options: paid traffic or organic growth through TikTok and Instagram
So I’ve been brainstorming video ideas and trying to figure out how we can actually make something go viral lol
So yeah, even if I’ve been a little less active here, there’s still a lot going on behind the scenes
I just need to learn how to balance everything without letting Twitter and Discord eat up my entire day again

I have quite a few Momo traits that I removed from the collection before launch for different reasons, and some of them might never make it into Momo, even through Momo Atelier
This blue hairstyle is one of them!
At first I thought it would be cute. Maybe some people really like super short, messy hairstyles on girls?
But then I felt like it wasn't feminine enough, and the blue was a bit too bright, so I decided to remove it
What do you think? Should I bring it back someday through Momo Atelier or leave it in the archives? ^-^
